Complaint Review: American Signature - Nationwide

 I went into American Signature retail store located at 2130 Gallatin Pike North Madison TN. I wanted to buy a sofa but not sure what exactly I wanted. During this time in shopping they greeted me with the most Ultimate respect. I decided on a 3 piece powered motor sectional sofa. 1 year passed and notice a piece of bracket was loose. This bracket prevented me from reclining. after looking under my sofa recliner I noticed that the mechanism was broken. I decided to take it back to the retail store. When I arrived I explain what had happen to see if I could get a replacement. So he asked for my name and other information. To my surprise he tells me that my sofa has been discontinued and for what reason is Unknown? So when I asked them what was the name of my sofa and the Manufacture where it came from. The manger stated I'm sorry but we don't have that information. I asked him why? The manger told me that if you purchase anything through American Signature and if by any means that there is a recall that information that you purchase is swipe clean from the system. It's like that it never existent. So I asked to you have any spare parts? His words were NO!!!! We only keep parts for Furniture that's active. So I asked what's my recommendation? The manger told me that I should JUNK!!!! My sofa. My exact words were are you kidding me!!!! My sofa is practically brand-new the only problem is that it needs a mechanism. And the sad part about this situation I'm still paying a monthly bill on this sofa. Then he tells me well purchase another??? I couldn't believe what I was hearing at this point.

So I started calling other locations and they practically told me the same thing. I contacted corporate office and explained my situation and there recommendation was that I've Taken A Risk!!!! Are you kidding me. I had to have her to repeat that again but slowly. She said that when I purchased my sofa that was the RISK!!! In event of purchasing furniture through us it never crossed my mind that's what happens if I purchase this furniture and later on down the road there is a recall? And you may not be able to get that particular part. What average consumer thinks about that? All I know is that American signature greet me with the most ultimate respect and really showed me hospitality and really had excellent sale skills to the Ven all I know is that American signature greet me with the most ultimate respect and really showed me hospitality and really had excellent sale skills to convince me to purchase this sofa it sound good I liked it and I went for it. I trusted American signature. How did I know later on down the road I will get treated this way and so disrespectful. I have paid my bills faithfully on time every month and still paying for something that I cannot use and broken . This sofa looks absolutely a mess. All I want is a replacement part for myself and I'm going through hell and high water. Customers should never have to experience what I have experience with American signature . And of course American signature is not going to say well if you purchase anything through us and yes that anything through us and if that part is discontinued we are not able to replace your parts. Rather if you have warranty or not. Plus on top of that you will still have to pay your balance off in full. Broken or not. But NO!!!!! There not going to say that. They would loose business. I'm elderly and at the age and the reason I brought this sofa was to recline and elevate my leg but from the lack of support through American signature I'm having to use my grandson toy chair to rest my legs on now. Please people please BEWARE OF AMERICAN SIGNATURE!
