Ordered some warehouse equipment. They intentionally sent us a different model than we ordered. This model required a significant amount of additional labor and parts to install. We contacted them and said we wanted to return the product and get a refund. They said no. We could ship it back, pay a 20% "restocking fee", and use the remaining money to buy additional products. We said no since they intentionally sent us the wrong product. They will not take back the product or send us what we originally ordered. This company is completely unprofessional. We will need to settle the matter with litigation. The president Bill DiMaio is dishonest. Do not buy from this company.

American Express Inc.  had reviewed Webgistics Claim against American Surplus and after reviewing all of the emails and documents regarding the matter....found that American Surplus Inc. did indeed provide all the correct material that was requested and quoted to the customer.

Typically American Express provides judgements in favor of the card holder but the proof that American Surplus provided was so accurate that the decision was made swiftly in favor of ASI.

Problem with scam reports is that....sometimes the scammer is doing the reporting !

ASI was contacted by Webgistics via the internet to get a price for used conveyor.  The initial contact from Webgistics was unfamiliar with conveyor but sent ASI a competitors bid stating this is what another vendor is recommending.  We would like to know what ASI has to offer and enclosed is a drawing that we feel will suit our needs  ASI viewed the drawing and quoted the customer promptly.

Webgistics accepted the conveyor ASI shipped on time and on budget.  The only complaint was that we shipped 10% of the order with air accumulating conveyor.  Our competitor was not quoting air accumulation but the drawing from Webgistics that was given to ASI to work from clearly shows that air accumulating with zones was requested and required and that is what we sent to the customer.  ( see drawing below)  Webgistics acknologes that it was their drawing and their writing on the drawing they sent ASI to work from.

Webgistics claims ASI sent them a conveyor they did not order but in fact it is EXACTLY what was ordered.  ASI shipped was exactly the kind of conveyor was on their drawing and on our quote.  We dont understand why Webgistics doesnt see that fact since they sent ASI the drawing with their notes as to what type of conveyor would fit their Atlanta needs   see copies enclosed

Webgistics claims that ASI refused to help them yet that couldnt be further than the truth in fact ASI spent days trying to assist:
As the President of the company I personally got involved to help

I tried to call Mr Disorbo several times and he would never take my call.  I emailed him as well to call me or take my calls and he simply would not.

ASI sent copies of Webgistics drawing with the ASI quote to show we sent the right conveyor they requested just in case Joe was not aware of the situation

ASI offered to swap out the 10% they wanted to exchange.but the customer did not want to abide by the terms of the agreement regarding  the return freight  and aprox $200 restocking fee it was only 3 pieces of conveyor.

ASI offered to set a sample at ASI and offered Webgistics to visit and see why what we quoted and they purchased  was the right conveyor for them but Webgistics said they didnt have the time to visit ASI

ASI offered to fly an expert team of conveyor installers from ASI to Atlanta to take care of the install but.Webgistics said it would be too cumersome for ASI and legal and insurance reasons would make it prohibitive .  Why?  We were willing !

ASI sent additional equipment as a sign of good faith that was not part of the order but would help minimize their installation costs and freighted the product free of charge.

ASI agreed to replace or accept the return for part or all of the order.  We issued a RA# per our terms of sale that have been in place for over 20 years.  We service over 30,000 active customers nationwide and are considered the largest and most successful used Material Handling company in the USA.  If we didnt care we would not have responded to this false claim. CUSTOMER DRAWING ENCLOSED. See notes on left:
