I went to America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses on December 28th 2001. I origanally wanted to get new contacts after three test

pair I decided to get glasses.

I understand that getting contacts to work with my prescription was difficult, and I needed to have something functional with my job.

The problem I had was getting follow-up appointments in a reasonable time frame and then when my new trial pair would arrive at the store they did not call me I had to call them!

The third pair took three weeks to get.

I made an appointment for last Friday,3/15/02 and decided to get glasses since I was having so much trouble with getting the correct prescription for contacts.

This is when I got ripped-off! My prescription is for bifocal/progressive lenses. Packages on one or two pair are apparently for lenses only!!! However this point is not made clear until it is time to find the frames. It was only when I looked at the frames, the lady was telling me the price range. I started asking questions about premium progressive lens package. I was told that the frames are purchased separately. I wanted two pair of glasses, only got one. This one pair cost me an additional $94.00. I had paid $174.?? for the contacts and exam, they gave me credit for that, off of the $159.00 package, and then I had to purchase new frames separatly.

NOWHERE does it say that frames are sold separatey from this package!!! The only indication is the wording "Premium Progressive Lens Package". I think this is very missleading, deceptive, and truly false advertising.

I have and am currently looking at an add from the website, it says "2 pairs frames and lenses, exam included, designer eyeglasses for $99.00, and $79.00" This add offers bifocal lenses to both pair for an additional $30.00.

I have noticied that alot of the problems are because the employee didn't explain everything clearly. You can get glasses for $79. They are single vision plastic lenses. If you want options you will pay more. You can up grade to a lined bi-focal for $30. Anything over that is more. Just like everywhere else. Options cost more money.
