Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I refinanced with Ameriquest Mortgage because of having an accident, and surgery with no insurance and feeling, at the time that it would be a good idea. I thought I was the only one out and out lied to including the story of we will more than be happy to review in 6 months to refinance only to be told that they won't do it for 2 yrs at a minimum. The loan officer also lied about the income I had, forced me to use her "friend" who was a "licensed contractor" to put up new drywall in the bathroom and get charged for work not performed.

I have also lost hours, temporarily, and got behind in the house payments. I tried to work things out with the mortgage company, but every time I called, talked to a different person, who told a different story.

I also had problems with them (1) continually calling me at work because the house payment was "late" although made within their grace period; (2) adding on escrow accounts for insurance taxes which I pay on my own; (3) adding insurance when I got new insurance on my own from one company to another. Because there was a one day lapse, they "had the right since I did not keep insurance current". It took me and my insurance agent 8 months to get them to remove their insurance, and that was only after faxing letters to the insurance portion, customer services and insurance boards in CA and UT and was still charged for a month of their insurance!!!

They are trying to foreclose on my house, but I am filing Chpt 13 to keep their mitts off my house since I have approx $20,000 in equity in it. I have found out, through attorney here and homeowner advocates, that within the first 45 days after they notify you that they are going to foreclose, under law, they HAVE to work with you on payments. After, that, they don't and I've noticed and talked with several people that this company will drag their feet until the 45 days is over with.

These people are predators and liars. If you get tired of their phone calls, write them a letter (the only way they will pay attention to you by the way) and fax and send it to them telling them not to call you...they have to do that, also. Then, if you do call them, tell them you are expecting a follow up letter and then bug them until they do it, then keep it.

I would like to know if there is basis for class action suit against these people...something needs to be done to put them in their place, where they deal more honestly and above board with people they do business with.

When I was originally hired by Ameriquest I did not have any loan experience. (since I have learned that they seek those nieve loan officers). I myself since have worked for reputible companies, most recently Country Wide Home Loans. Our managers there in the Ogden office did not tell the new employee's that it was illegal to mislead our customers. They did not keep us informed about laws and practices of the company. It was encouraged for people to lie and cheat thier customers.....and we still were paid minute bonuses for the loans we performed. I am sorry for your experience and I hope you are able to resolve the situation.
