The job is real, but everything they claim it to be is not. The blatant lies are the pay, hours, schedule, job description, benefits, the high prestige brands sold, and job security. They say successful reps make $50,000 - $75,000 a year but almost everyone makes minimum wage with the most successful earning just barely more. Watch your paycheck closely because payroll practices can be creative. There are over a dozen job titles but every job is a product demonstrator selling no-name brands in Sam's Club. It’s retail sales, but the word “sales” is blacklisted. Be prepared for 60+ hour weeks on your feet all day. Any work you do outside of selling is free (conference calls, meetings, set up, etc.). You will not know your schedule more than 3-4 days in advance. There is no overtime, vacation time, sick days, job security, or benefits. Don’t believe the hype about this “amazing opportunity,” because hype is all this company is.

The office sees new employees come and go just about daily due to empty promises and offers of opportunities that aren’t there. Most people only stay about a month before they realize they’re being played and leave. The ones who stay are delusional. You will meet people in this job who will smile with seemingly genuine excitement about working in a booth at Sam’s Club and who really believe it’s the solution to their problems as they’re working for peanuts and struggle to hold their life together. They believe this because the mandatory daily meetings convince them to worship the company and how there is no success without it. Amplify Management, Inc convinces employees that they can be rich if they just work hard for minimum wage for a short while while they're being trained to enter management. Management is an opportunity that rarely culminates, and even when it does, is not what it was represented to be (there is no 6 figure salary over the rainbow). Shame on the retailers for allowing such an unethical company into their warehouses.

It's not really an independent marketing firm - it's a multi-level marketing network named Smart Circle which facilitates retail, door-to-door, etc. The individual firms cycle through names and locations every so often to avoid negative press.

Empty Promises

I’m not sure it’s a scam since they way they operate is apparently (just barely) legal, but at the very least they do a lot of the things that are red-flags if you research entry-level marketing job scams or enter level hiring scams, and they definitely take advantage of people who don’t know better by gussying up a terrible dead-end opportunity to look great.

I read the reviews online and didn't do my due diligence. I then learned that Glassdoor can and does remove negative reviews, and many of the "top companies to work for" they advertise on their yearly list are in fact deceitful and predatory. Amplify Management Inc. is one of those, and their page is full of fake reviews that don’t mention the job is entirely a sales job. They hire employees by targeting young people who don't know better, and their retention rate is probably less than 10% because once people catch on, they move on.

Smart Circle is Amplify’s parent company, and it’s an affiliate of DS-Max.

Ethan Vanderbilt releases videos on scams (http://ethanvanderbuilt.com/2015/02/27/cydcor-ds-max-scam-opinion/). This job is one of them he reviewed because it advertises management entry level positions but actually only offers entry-level direct sales. Granted, he only discusses the door-to-door and program and not the retail sales a.k.a. “roadshow division,” but it’s the same job.

This company is also known as Devilcorp (https://thedevilcorp.wordpress.com). Please read about any aspect of the job. It is identical the experience Amplify offers. They string their employees along to squeeze everything they can out of them for a very, very low pay and long hours running through empty promises of obscene income and non-existent advancement. The employees and owners are the losers, and the only people who profit are the few at the top of Smart Circle.

There are better opportunities out there!
