You know what occurs to me as I read this website is that these investigators do a whole hell of a lot of work effectively. I don't know where their money comes from, but why do I pay taxes? It just makes me furious that my tax dollars go to the very well-paid donut-eaters who just sit on their huge asses while the Rip-off Report does their job. I was just trying to take a mental count of who should be on top of this and I have not heard one word of warning from the FBI, FCC, FTC (can I get another letter?) I study Political Science at Notre Dame and I want to see if I can get somebody to do a serious study on whether government oversight agencies should not be privatized and the investigative charter be transferred to guys like these who appear to be a lot more responsive and efficient. Maybe we could ask to see their asses, though. If they are not round and firm, that would totally destroy my hypothesis. Thanks for reading, but I am totally serious.

Jo, I called to get my money back and scored today too. Just so you know, I learned that Rip-off Report contacted this company yesterday and prepped them prior to our calls. This company was not repaying their victims until the Rip-off Report twisted their arms a little. One of their employees told me that Mark Cohen, the Chief Marketing Officer had a hissy snit about whatever they said to him. He contacted his Director of Customer Service and let her know they better start giving back the money they have been stealing from victims like you and me, or this issue would have to be raised to the level of his boss, Gary and then heads would roll. So, the bottom line is, whatever this website did, it sure worked. Thanks Rip-off Report dudes! You rock!!!

I am delighted to report that $48.79 X 2 has ben re-credited to my credit card account!
Use the number above -- they may try to "wheedle", so be prepared to be firm (and as polite as possible under the circumstances). You CAN get your money back!

I got ahold of a telephone number: 1-800-737-6183 for AMR LD where I actually got to speak with a "customer service representative", who assured me that the charges would be taken off of my credit card. For the AmericanFone charges, she gave me a different number, but when I called that number, they told me that the charges had already been taken care of. I have since actually received two emails confirming the above, that the refund would appear on my next billing. Since I have Internet banking, I can keep an eye on my statement and see what happens.
I still do not like the way in which they operate. . . offering some kind of free phone service, and then billing you if you do not cancel, even though you may not even have noticed that you had "placed an order" . . . they attach themselves to other on-line sellers, then bill the same credit card that was used for the legitimate purchase.
We shall see. . .
