Totally Unbelievable! This woman, Ann Baehr, has stolen my resume and is now passing it off as something she wrote. I found out about this when I saw my own resume on her website. I mean it was really my resume, word-for-word.

Well you know what? Llets be fair: She had changed the name at the top and put "555-555-5555" as the contact phone number.

She didn't even bother to change the font or the layout. Mayber her scanner doesn't recognize text too well, so the only option she has is to cut-n-paste. I doubt that she even knows how to format a document, let alone publish one.

After the initial shock, I got angrier and angrier with each word I saw. So I calmed down and decided to email her to let her know that she was posting my work on her site. I said that though this may be just an honest mistake, she in fact did not have my permission to use my resume.

No response.

Two weeks later: I emailed her again, this time with a little bit stronger language, asking specifically for the company to contact me.

No response.

Another week or so later: I emailed a third time with a very strongly worded, bright-red, size 48 point font email demanding that the company remove my resume from their website unless they wished to have me proceed with legal action.

I got a phone call from the owner of the company, Ann Baehr; within about 1/2 hour.

After the introductions, Ms. Baehr said that she wanted to "personally" call and make sure that no one was using my name to try and hurt me. (?) Maybe because in her mind she had used my resume to try to hurt me? I don't know.

So I said, no it was me who contacted her. I then explained the situation. Her response started with this obviously-fake shock at my accusation. "I really just can't figure out WHAT you are talking about!"

So I directed her to look at the link I had sent in all three emails.

She went to the link.

She then stumbled and stuttered out a bunch of nonsense which segued into a bogus fairy tale that went like this: "OH yeah...I remember this customer..."

(Once Upon A Time...) A man and his brother came into her office, each a handsome prince in his own right...No wait...

...EACH ordering their own personalized resumes, and this particular resume (the one I only THOUGHT was mine you see), was one that SHE had written for one of these brothers.

She then babbled on about how the other brother wanted something TOTALLY different, one was in construction and the other one was the COMPLETE opposite, and was a banker. So that's why she remembers them so vividly (11 years later).

Keep in mind that all of this takes place with me holding the phone 4 inches away from my ear because she was propelling her assorted gabble at me in this louder-than-it-needed-to-be, totally obnoxious east coast accent.

At this point, I was still trying to be reasonable, so I tried to give her an out...a way to save face since she seemed to be putting a lot of effort into this massive lie.

I also already knew from experience raising teenagers, that she wasn't going to back down from her lie anytime soon.

So my approach was basically: "Ok, well I'm not going to argue with you about the brothers *eyes rolling* ...But I'm telling you I know I wrote this resume. I have the original dated file INCLUDING my handwritten editing notes from when I wrote this 3 years ago."

She offered no response so I continued..."Maybe one of the brothers somehow received it after I had sent out a batch, and then brought it into your office."

No response.

So I continued. "I think the best way to resolve this is that you just take the resume off of your website."

She just laughed and said "I don't think so." As you can imagine, the conversation went downhill from there.

I know that she is dead wrong here, but I have to say that she stood her ground with such a display of false confidence that had I not already known the truth: That this woman had stolen my work...it really would have seemed authentic.

I mean it's obvious that this criminal has had a lot of practice here.

Then suddenly the tide turned. There was a lull in the conversation, and I broke the silence by offering this:

"By the way, Ann"

"I should mention that I am still in contact with many of the Corporations that I have sent my resume to; Corporate Business Partners who still work with me. These are relationships that I have nurtured, on an Executive Level, from about three years ago, WHEN I WROTE THIS RESUME, until today."

"The main reason that I stay in contact with them is that I still do business with many of them as a consultant. This means that they have to keep my information on file."

"This includes my personal information like my social security number (so they can pay me) AS WELL AS my resume."

"And many of them have kept the stamped and dated envelope in which the resume first arrived. The envelope is usually is stapled to the back of the document, as a common practice."

It gets better...

"The post-dated envelope matches the Executive Grey Linen paper on which I had had my original resume laser-printed. Three years ago. You know...when I wrote it."

Uh-oh.

So she stayed quiet while she listened to all of this, and then I was done talking. She still stayed utterly silent. I mean dead silent. For more than a minute. I mean I was having to say, "Hello?" a couple of times.

She then stumbled around a little bit, and having no reasonable response she proceeded to launch into this yelling rampage of pretty much just nonsense, but also some thinly-veiled, ridiculous threats. So I just ended the call.

A few words come to mind...

FORGERY, THEFT, FRAUD, PLAGIARISM, and UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES.

Are there any more? Class? Anyone?

HOW about...

Falsification, Infringement, Literary Theft, Piracy, Deceit, Graft, Sham, Misrepresentation, Counterfeiting, Invasion of Privacy, and Perjury.

Ok.

The *most* likely scenario here is that Ms. Baehr advertises for different employment positions in different nationwide publications, posing as a potential employer. Then when honest folks send in a resume, she just scans the good ones and posts them online as a "sample" of her "great work" and "literary talent."

Give me a break. I guess it's a compliment to me and my writing skills that she is so desperate to be able to continue to take credit for my work?

Anyway, I'm still pissed. Please do not pay this pathetic loser any money; she is a con-artist and an imposter.

Ann Baehr vs. Kathryn: Kathryn Does Not Have A Case - American Dream Mortgage & Realty of California, Inc.

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, February 11, 2008

Kathryn of American Dream Mortgage & Realty of California, Inc. has announced that she has filed formal charges against me and my business, Best Resumes of New York. That is a very serious statement. If she means it and is not blowing smoke, she better explain to a judge that she is the one who threw the first libelous stone -- telling everyone that I pose as an employer and sift through resumes and put the ones I like on my website as samples of my work, and that I do not write my resumes -- that I steal them and sell them as my own. First of all, I don't sell resumes. I write them as a service working very closely with my clients. In her first onslaught, she called me a fraud, amongst the approximate 15 other slanderous synonyms. Courts do not favor those who initiate the libel, especially when they only have accusations and not proof. Boy, talk about the hypocritical pot calling the kettle black. Let's examine the facts: 2001: Ann Baehr writes a resume (has client testimonial in writing) 2002: Ann Baehr adds the resume sample to her website. 2003. The WayBack Machine makes a PDF of it (and the entire website) 2005: Kathryn supposedly writes her own resume. 2008: Kathryn claims her resume is on Ann Baehr's website. What? How can I write a resume two years before she wrote her resume? That just doesn't make sense. SHE FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY PROOF Kathryn keeps telling everyone that I only have bogus news releases as proof, but never acknowledges that I have presented the archive.org link. SHE FAILS TO PRESENT HER PROOF Where are the date-stamped envelopes that she claims exist from the resume she sent to companies three years ago? They better have the cancelled stamps from the U.S. Post Office dating before October 2002 because the WayBack Machine's archives are typically posted six months after they are actually cached. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. There it is! Proof that I have been in possession of the resume at least two years before she wrote her resume -- the resume that I wrote seven years ago. Please do an Internet search on how the WayBack Machine or archive.org in combination with the search term 'evidence in court' to see how this valuable resource is helping attorneys fight cases in court. Since I have never seen Kathryn's resume that she supposedly wrote, the only writing samples I have seen have been her complaints and blog posts. In her profile at LinkedIn, she actually used a part of the profile from my resume sample for her summary (to see the summary, you will need to be a member of LinkedIn to view her profile. There is no fee). You can clearly see where my writing ends and hers begins. Please do a side-by-side to see what I mean. Resume writing is a well-honed craft that she obviously has not developed. Her wording is terrible. In fact, it doesn't even make sense. The sentence structure is a mess and the grammar and punctuation is horrible. She will probably rush to change it or delete it after reading this. But that won't do her any good. I have taken a screenshot of it. As for me going berserk and posting my accusations on 14 sites, those sites include the one WebWire I wrote, two of my own websites, and sites that she has posted to first. I only followed suit. She has taken out at least one known free website and filed a duplicate complaint to at least three consumer complaint sites. The rest include sites that have picked up the story using news aggregators. Thank you for reading my side of this story.

ANN BAEHR, BEST RESUMES OF NEW YORK FACES CHARGES OF PLAGIARISM, FRAUD, & LIBEL

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sun, February 10, 2008

Ann Baehr of Best Resumes of New York has repeatedly attacked me by writing bogus "news stories" and then paying several internet services to have them "published." In the report above, her most recent attack, she states that I am a "Proven Liar." This is absolutely untrue, and with this report Ms. Baehr has now committed libel. Because of her ongoing harassment, she is now facing charges under the laws of the State of California, as well as several Federal Statutes that prohibit criminals such as herself from taking their illegal behavior across State lines. That is only the start of what this woman has done. Please see the entire report of her actions, including PLAGIARISM and FRAUD here: http://www.freewebs.com/katcarrado/annbaehrhijackedmyresume.htm Ms. Baehr, who owns a resume-writing service in East Islip, New York apparently advertises for "employment positions available" and then asks her victims to submit their resumes. At that point, Ms. Baehr sorts through them, not as a potential employer, but rather as a conniving thief; copying and pasting resumes or parts of resumes onto her website, and then claims that she "wrote" them. I know this because I found my own resume on her site a few weeks ago. When I asked Ms. Baehr to remove it, she laughed and said, "I don't think so." At that point, I filed a complaint against her here on Rip Off Report which outlined my experience with her. Since that time, Ms. Baehr has gone berserk online; and has posted "articles" which she pays to have published, and in which she continues to misrepresent what has happened here, as well as tarnish my name and my company's name. Ms. Baehr has had no contact or business dealings whatsoever with my company, yet she has posted negative and inflammatory falsehoods on at least 14 websites; causing a substantial loss of business, and an untrue negative reputation for myself, my company, and my employees. Ms. Baehr is a liar and a thief. She is making up lies about me because she is angry that I discovered her illegal activity and confronted her. She will now be brought up on formal charges of PLAGIARISM, FRAUD, DEFAMATION, & LIBEL. Even though her guilty verdict will not repair my reputation, nor restore the monies from the business I have now lost. I am proceeding only to stop her from doing this to other innocent victims of her resume scam. As far as her bogus, unsubstantiated, and vicious attacks towards me, such as the one she posted here; the legal system will just have to sort it out. Look on the bright side Ann, maybe they'll let you have a laptop in jail.
