Anthem College located in Atlanta (formerly High Tech Inst) is a waste of time! Potential students beware. The programs are not fully accredited, and credits will not transfer, and believe me if not at first (but down the road) you will regret attending. This school has been a joke since day one and I just don't want to see anyone else get burned. I was in the Surgical Tech program and they aren't even accredited and are at risk for stopping the program because of not being able to gain accreditation on it.

They cram you in a class where you are expected to become efficient in what your learning in 4 weeks, and give you a test at the end of four weeks on material you don't even know. They sign you up and let anyone and everyone in the school. I know of three students who cannot even read (which God bless them for going back to school - but a lot of good it will do if they cannot read - just goes to show that some counselors/admission rep's will do anything to make numbers - which only sets that student up for failure). There has been at-least three Dean's and three Campus President's since I have been there.

Students come in dressed like they are going to a club. (Even when there are visitors from hospitals here to view the school). Just not a good campus. You will regret going there as I have - and now starting over at another school and lost all that money and credits.

Do your research before going to any school, but beware of Anthem. They changed the name of the school but nothing about it has changed.

Update on Atlanta Campus (Anthem College)

Update on Anthem College (Atlanta) as of 3/2/13:

(1) There is now a new Dean of Education, and a new Campus President.
(2) All of the Surgical technology teachers are now gone, and the program has stopped and no longer accepting new students. The program chair is still there, but for how long we do not know.
(3) Brown Mackie College has also stopped there surgical technology program - this is two schools in the same year that have done away with the ST program????
(4) An actual staff member shared that a teacher was fired for having relations with a student.
(5) When the new campus president came in a entire brand new crew of admissions staff came with him.
(6) If you don't believe do a survey with the students - but over 90% of the student body is unhappy with Financial Aid and the director of FA. She is the rudest person you will ever meet, and they will take weeks to do your file. Refund checks you might as well get ready to wait a long time, and don't call corporate because they will not respond. What happened to Mr. Raymond and can we please bring him back?? He at-least knew what he was doing.
(7) About 5 weeks ago the former Dean, and the program chair for the medical assisting program left the same weekend, and the former Campus President left three days later. When you ask why, no one on staff knows.
(8) You have teachers who are working day and evening and are tired, and not getting paid what they deserve and worn out by the time the evening students get here, and refuse to do Friday labs because the school won't pay them for it (which is awful that when students need extra time in the lab - they can't get it because Anthem won't pay the staff).
(9) The new security guard looks like he just graduated high school, and doesn't do his job because he is to busy trying to get with staff, students, and visitors. He can be seen at anytime walking the hallways on his cell phone or eating a hamburger as he is flirting with students and staff.
(10) The school now does a "student contribution fund" where you are required as a re-entry student or newly enrolled student to contribute anywhere from 50-100 each month towards repaying your student loans. Oh and by the way - if you don't pay you will get emails from the business manager each week reminding you until you do, and get kicked out of the school (for 100, when they are getting 32,000????).
(11) Most of the female staff can be seen in clothes that are suitable to go to the "Tongue and Groove" which is right across from the campus - so if you don't want to learn - the FA Director, and many of the Admissions Rep's are club ready.
