AOL is my internet service provider,Back in Feb. 2001 I was connected with AOL DSL service. I was not satified with their service. So in Feb. 2001 I decided I no longer wanted their service and I was going to go with another Internet Service Provider. I contacted AOL and ask to be disconnected from their service. I was informed they would do that. But what happened was every time I contact another service provider I informed AOL DSL is still on my phone line and the other service cannot connect. Then AOL reinstated the DSL service without my consent and offered my one month free.I told them I no longer wanted their service and please clear my phone line. Some 4 months later I still don't have an internet service provider for DSL and as of a week ago my phone line was not clear of AOL's DSL on my phone line.I have called AOL a number of times with no satisfaction. They will not let me go.

THANKSTO ONE OF THE PERSON'S COMPLAIN, I COULD GET THE 1800 # FOR AOL. THANKS A LOT. YOU DON'T FIND THAT NUMBER EVEN IN THEINTERNET YELLOW PAGES. I WAS REALLY UP-SET WITH AOL BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM, THEY DON'T HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THEIR WEBSITE. SO I'M GIVING YOU SOME TIPS: CALL THEM AT 1800- 827-6364, IF THEY DON'S CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOU STILL BEING BILL ON YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT, THAT HAPPENED TO ME, YOU CAN WRITE TO THEM: P O BOX 1559, OGDEN, UTAH 84401 OR CANCELLATION PO BOX 1600, AND MAKE SURE YOU WRITE DOWN YOUR CONFIRMATION #. GOOD LUCK, AND I HOPE I'LL NEVER HAVE TO USE AOL AGAIN.

Firstly i would just like to say that im not taking sides with the company that i work for but.... When members phone through to see about an 'AOL problem', why 90% of the time do we find something wrong with your pc, eh?. Also if you clearly read the 'Outer edge' of the cd-rom itself it gives you idiot proof information on what happens if you decide to join AOL, so stop making up excuses saying that we've broken your state-of-the-art system (which you claim is less than 3 years old, oh yes!). If you would really like to become a member, buy a mac, there more suited to the 'fisher price' style of computing, not people who buy pc's and think that they know more than we do!. Sorry to burst your bubble but if you phone us, it usually means one thing and one thing only!... YOU DONT HAVE A s****.! The next time that you have to phone AOL for some support on an 'AOL Issue', at least have the pc SWITCHED ON. Thats like going into a garage and saying you have a flat but you dont have the car there! The mechanic would just bounce a spanner of your head! Kindest Regards, One Overknowledged and Underpaid Tech Agent. Tonto. xx

Kudos to you D, I have a small computer company in Alaska, I hear alot of people saying AOL messed up the computer, so I go on a service call and find a very messy PC, no critical updates done, ask them when they gefragged the last time they ask what that is...I even had one customer that put the disk in did not install the soft ware(could not have because ribbon cable was not connected to CD-Rom) and said it messed up his cd-rom and could no longer boot his system(which turned out to be missing windows files he deleted because he didn't think he needed them) I did lose him as a customer because I lost my cool when he called me 2 days later and said I messed up his computer becase it won't even turn on anymore, I went to his house and he had his power strip unplugged so I told him what I thought of his lack of compatence(but not in those words..I did say I lost my cool). I want to find a place that people can tell there good thoughts of AOL(maybe I will open a website for it)I am sorry to hear some have problems but the millions that don't out number the ones that do. I simple dial-up will still work on a telephone line that is set-up for DSL you just need to set it up properly

AOL as all software developers I hope beta test their software before full version releases are available to the unsuspecting public. So.....the software is tested by the AOL developers themselves and by willing members who have their home PCs just like yours. So lets tally this up....we have 35,000,000 people all happily (well, most of them)installing and using the AOL client, and a small handfull who, when installing the software have now found Windows (97' according to you) will not boot up. Well, maybe and just maybe its because you have failed to download the critical updates which Microsoft recommend (I hear a kernel calling),could it be maybe you have more networks than Al-Quida set up (on office 2000 according to you)or finally it could be because you have more conflicts on your system than the Middle East. As far as connection problems go...if your modem is responding 100% with all system information showing Int Add UART etc and your driver date isnt 1964, then either your phone line is dying death or you have more devices on your phone line than Batman. AOL isnt crap software...it just doesnt like crappy PCs. One very bored AOL Tech.

Hello, Iam very annoyed with AOL they're service is terrible and they've left me 60 short of money. I recieved they're package through the post saying aol 7.0 free trial, well i put it into my computer and ever since i did i had errors and couldnt even use the internet. This is because aol are trying to get you to use they're stupid service by not letting you connect to another internet provider. Well because of this i had to take my pc to a computer shop to reininstall my whole software, this cost me 60... Iam going to take this complaint further anyway and make sure noone else makes the same mistake... They're cd thats free(big deal) is a con and curupts your pc.. Thanks Claire.
