My companion and I have been on many Princess Cruises and we took the insurance on 3/4 of them.  Our cruise was to take place in January 2015 and in December 2014 my companion was rushed to the hospital and was in the hospital until he passed away in March 2015.  He was diagnosed with cancer throughout his body and he passed away.  I called in December and cancelled the cruise and then in April I called to see about having our money returned and I was told that I had to fill out paperwork.  I sent the required paperwork along with a death certificate in April and I just received paperwork from AON (June 23, 2015) stating that I had to have his physician fill out papers.  He had a team of approximately 20 doctors (in Pennsylvania and we lived in Florida) and when I spoke to AON they said a physician had to fill out the papers and they would determine if it was a pre-existing condition or not.  He went in the hospital not knowing he had cancer and he passed away from cancer throughout his body.  I just got off the phone with Princess Cruises and I was told that I would not be receiving any money refund but they give you a credit towards another cruise.  I purchased the insurance and I want my money returned.  To all out there, do yourself a favor and NEVER book a cruise on Princess or purchase AON insurance.
