Aptive Environmental — New York- Long Island 1 star Jul 18, 2018 5:37pm So far, it appears a complete con job. Salesman told me 'whole yard would be sprayed on second visit..." LOL - Aptive employee arrived and promptly asked to use my outdoor water connection to fill his tank-- So far - so good? Then, he walked around my backyard - over 100ft deep - and walked around 1/3 of it - with A HAND SPREADER - Holds 1.5-2lbs. - AT MOST... and spread something? (No information left on what he put down- by the way...) He then sprayed the base of my house- just like the 1st application - and put his hose away! I asked him if he was going to spray the yard - he said, "...oh we don't do that..." Who told you we did that, the Salesman?" I said, yes- he needed to spray the yard - but I reservations as to what he actually was mixing with my water in his truck mounted sprayer. He then made two wide swaths on my front yard- with the HAND SPREADER- (Has anyone seen a professional lawn service use a HAND SPREADER on a large suburban lawn?) Let me tell you - the range of a hand spreader is maybe 6ft - Miraculously this young man was able to cover my ENTIRE lawn - 200'-175' with 3-4lbs. of insecticide? - with 4-5 total walk-arounds! He never did spray the front lawn. To top it off- their contract makes you pay the difference between the first application "discount" and the introductory fee - so for the total of $400 or so - I got - 10 minutes of "spray" at foundation on treatment #1- and what I described previously as treatment #2. I seldom get so screwed- but WOW - Aptive really saw me coming! We'll see what their response is tomorrow - I called their # - but - THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CLOSED AT 5P EST - I called at 5:03 -
