----------------------------------- APX AlARM Scammed a Pregnant Women, who was home alone with a one year old child. West Provo Utah

On July 10th 2007 at around 5:00pm I was home alone with my 1 1/2 yr old child, and pregnant with my 2nd child. A man came to my door, after he explained who he was I opened the door with my daughter in hand. He immediatly started playing on the fact that I was home alone with a child in a bad neigborhood.

He told me that he was in the neighborhood looking for people to be "advertising homes" for this alarm company. He told me that I would recieve a discounted rate for "doing them a favor and making them money" a free alaram unit and a free install.

I asked him if they would come back tomorrow before 1:00 when my husband would be home so that I could discuss this with him, the sales man said that the only way I could recieve the discounted monthly rate, free install, and free alarm unit is if I signed up right then and there that the offer would not be availible the next day.

After looking at the paperwork I notice that it said a 60month contract. I told the salesman that we were renting that house and that we would be moving in the next few months, I asked what would happend when it came time to move. He told me that all I had to do was call and they would come and move the unit or cancel my contract with no penalties or additional charges because again I was doing them a favor advertising. They only thing I had to do to make sure I was not charged was make sure the sign stayed in place in my front yard. I was also told by the salesman that I had to mark on the paperwork that I was the home owner even though I made it perfectly clear I was a renter. After filling out the paperwork he called in the order and then handed me his cell phone, he said they are going to ask you the following questions and he then told me the answers to give the person on the phone.

So now its time for me to move I am 9months pregnant and I have been having some medical problems. I called the company to turn our service off because my new landlord will not allow the system in our new home and they tell me that I have to pay over $2000.00 to buy out the rest of the contract. When I explain to them what I was told by the salesmen they called me a liar, refused to let me speak to any supervisors or give me the number to the corperate offfice.

This company stands behind scamming single home alone pregnant women and they are perfectly ok with that. They told me that a main supervisior would contact me within the next week and that never happended, what instead happened is they sent me a letter stating my phone was not in service and that I would have to pay off the $2000.00 balance if I did not get it turned back on however the letter is dated the same day I called demanding a supervisior, it is the number I started service with, it has not changed nor has it ever been shut off.

Had I not been pressured and lied to I would not be in a situation where I have to pay $99.00 to move the unit (which can not be installed in the new home) or re-sign a contract that I never wanted, or give them over $2000.00.
