Renee Kellogg, their customer service representative in Austin is way more interested in disproving you as a customer than to find out the truth of what happens with ARS service. Luckily for me I have all evidence in my favor. In summary, ARS should have detected an evaporator coil leak at the time the part was under warranty but they did not. On June 25, 2011 ARS Rescue Rooter came to my house due to a service call I had place to fix my AC because it was not cooling. Upon arrival the technician ("Randall" #970) said that I needed a refill of "Puron". Given the price of Puron per pond at that time, the technician suggested that I should, instead of buying Puron by the pound, buy the Home Service Plan (HSP) (which includes Puron re-fill), because the price of $169 of the HSP was lower than the amount of Puron I needed to buy to refill the unit. I followed his advice and I purchase the HSP that same day as evidenced in the Invoice (9132-634418). On June 18, 2012 I called ARS again because my AC was not cooling again. The second technician (#619) diagnosed that the Blower Motor was not working properly and suggested a replacement. By this date (June 15, 2012) my system was still under 5 years thus, parts were covered under warranty. This technician also noted that the unit was low of Puron (AGAIN) and topped off the unit with Puron as described (written) on the invoice (9132-661896). I paid $190.36 for the part replacement. On Jan 27, 2014 I had the unit checked for regular maintenance. Technician (David #373 or #372?) "Checked" both the heating AND Cooling system, as evidenced by invoice #9132-623964 and said there were no issues. I recall the visit lasting less than 15 min.

This month (June 2014) I noted that once again my unit was not cooling so I called ARS Rescue Rooter to inquire about the price of Puron (since I knew that what they do every time) the price was over $100 per pound so I looked elsewhere for a better price. I contracted the services of Drain + Air Rescue (License #TACLB36308E) and the technician ("Manny") added Puron. He said that the unit should not be loosing Puron (given that Puron is contained in a sealed compartment) and, after inspection, diagnosed the unit with a leak in the evaporator coil (as noted in invoice # 171569) and gave me a quote for the replacement. "Manny" checked if the evaporator coil was under warranty and found out that it had a 5 year warranty and was out of warranty. Early this month (June 2014) I called ARS Rescue Rooter to make a formal complaint with them arguing that after various checks and even after they had to re-filled my AC unit with Puron they never suggested that I had a leak, at the time of those checks I had a leak, evidenced by the refills made by ARS (as written in one of the invoices #9132-661896) and at the time my unit, more specifically the evaporator Coil WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I requested to them to pay for the part (About $800) and I would pay for the service (about $800) but ARS rescue rooter refused to acknowledge responsibility.
