Driving from Michigan to Florida, at 65-70/mph when in ECO mode, the engine hesitates or jerks or misses ever-so-often. This very irritating. Driving locally, it is not as noticable.

The technician at Art Moehn dealership said that this is normal. I contacted Honda Motor Customer Service and they said they cannot do anything about it unless the technician says there is a problem.

Is anyone out there having this problem?

By the way, this is our 10th new Honda.

I brought a new 2008 EXL V6 Accord in Febuary of this year. I made a trip to Atlanta, GA in it when I first got it and have just got back from a trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Montana. I had 3100 miles on it when we set out for Yellowstone and drove another 3800 miles on the trip to Yellowstone and back. The car performed great. We had no vibration and I could not tell when the ECO was on or the car was running on all 6 cylinders except to look and see if the ECO light was on. The car averaged 30.5 MPG on the trip and this included driving all the roads in Yellowstone. It took about 3000 miles to break the car in and at that point I started to see the MPG start to increase. This is the third Honda I have owned and at this point I can say that overall it is the best. I have seen some comments concerning road noise and have observed that as long as you are on good roads that it is not a problem. I live in Texas and the highway department has started putting gravel down on our highways and mixing in oil,etc to keep it together. When you drive over it you do have a lot of road noise. However, I have been in other cars including the Camby and all of them have the road noise driving over the gravel. Oklahoma back several years ago did the same thing on their roads and it only lasted about 2 years before it started to come apart breaking windshields and putting dents in your car. This is not a good repair method. I don't know if other states are using this same type of paving or not but do know that it does cause a lot of road noise in most cars.

It is common on these motors where the cylinders cut off and on to save fuel. What you are feeling is the cutting on and off of cylinders. There is nothing wrong.
