Art Platform NYC, Juliette Townsend International scam to rip off artists New York New York
Myself and at least fifteen other artists are all being scammed by Art Platform NYC. New artists are coming forth daily. Each of us signed contracts with AP within the past year for inclusion in a professional art book to be marketed to bookstores, galleries, collectors, etc. We were also promised exhibition platforms for our visual arts, such as fairs, auctions and placement in galleries and private collections.
None of the promised services have been provided. Appointments are constantly cancelled, communication is obscure and fractured. The book has never materialized, though one of us was sent a link for the book on-line. Another received a tracking number but no book within three weeks. Others have been told the book is not published yet.
Attempts at demanding the services promised, and threatening conversations procure nothing but excuses, apologies, and promises of better treatment that doesn't arrive.
We artists have orgainized and are making attempts to get our money back and the company exposed. They are unaware that we are now working together. I have filed a case with the Volunteer Lawyer for the Arts and am now contacting new agencies that assist civilians with fraud cases.

Art Platform NYC is just the newest face of this international art scam. Art Approach LLC was its former name http://artapproachllc.blogspot.com/2012/04/art-approach-llc-new-york-free-press.html . After having burned enough artists using that name, they shut their doors and opened as Art Platform NYC, alternatively Art Platform LLC. There are now over 30 artists in contact, and the number is growing. Since reading our ripoff report, they have taken down all contact names from their website, changed the website to include more fake shows and less artists, and removed artists contact informaton from their profiles. For anyone being approached by any art company, I would advise you to check affiliations at every level. Do your research. We have found the former president of Art Apprach LLC to be taking payments for Art Platform NYC. We are all investigating and informing each other of new information each day. There is power in numbers.
