On July 2, 2012 a Phoenix based company called ASAP Air Conditioning and Heating (ROC 104266) installed a new York unit.

A few days after the install, the unit would not blow cold air so a service technician came out to repair a leak.  Several days later the same problem occurred and the same service technician fixed the issue which was another leak (missing o-ring) this time.

Three months later I had to call the company because the unit would not blow cold air so they sent out the same tech to repair yet another leak.  Several days after the repair, he had to return to fix yet another leak.

On Dec. 7, 2012 the same company had to return to replace a failed fan motor.  I initially called George Brazil to replace the motor because I didn't want to deal with ASAP and I knew George Brazil was an authorized dealer and could do the repair under York's warranty.  The labor quote to replace the motor was $800.  I use to be a mechanic so I refused to pay that much for a one hour job.  I was forced to call ASAP to have them replace the motor.

Today is Dec. 29, 2012 and the unit will not blow hot air!  To make matters worse, the company claims to provide 24/7 service which is completely false so there is no way to have the unit repaired while it's 60 degrees in my house.  They have an answering machine that works 24/7 but that's about it.

This has been a major inconvenience on so many levels that I can't begin to convey my frustration.  When I spoke with a supervisor at ASAP named "Eddie Andrew", he told me that there is no action I can take other than to have them repeatedly return for more service calls.  At this point I want the entire unit changed but I doubt they will do that without me taking legal action which I and prepared to do.

Leak Finally Fixed

A Master Tech from Delta came out today to perform extensive leak testing and found that the TXV gasket was never installed on the air handler.  Due to ASAP's installation and troubleshooting incompetence, I had to pay an additional $587.50 for a part that cost pennies to finally get this leak fixed.

I called another repair company and on Dec. 29, 2012, Delta Mechanical sent out a Technician to troubleshoot the problem with the unit not producing hot air.  The Tech found that the unit was low on R-410A and had to add 5 lbs for proper operation which cost me an additional $161.50.  I am still working with Delta to determine where the leak is.

It's obvious that ASAP Air Conditioning and Heating have no clue how to install A/C units without them leaking so I hope they never get into the boat building business.
