My husband went to Ashley Furniture to buy me a desk for xmas. He picked one out and paid at the counter. AFTER they ran his credit card they filled out an "order form" and had him sign it saying "all sales are final." He was worried I would not like the desk and he told the sales lady that he was going to get me and come back before he picked it up to make sure I like it since all sales are final and he didnt know this.
He got me and we went back. The desk was too dark for my liking and I asked about getting a different one. The sales lady, Pat said no, all sales are final. My husband explained we had not picked it up, only 10 min since he bought it. She said all sales are final because they have "labor costs" in getting the item out of the warehouse to the pick up dock. My husband offered to pay for the labor involved for getting the desk out of the warehouse. Pat, the sales manager said no we could not do this, all sales are final. I got angry, and said forget it. I dont want anything from this store. All sales cant be final until you receive your merchandise.
We are out 788.00 from this company for a desk I did not pick up or will pick up. I will not do business with a company that doesnt disclose up front purchasing terms. Besides this, how can all sales be final if you have not received your merchandise?
