I have been with Aspire for 4 years. Recently I was making a purchases only when I slid my card, it came back declined. The clerk told me that maybe because the card was expired. I looked at my card and to my surprise, the card had expired in August 2008. It was approaching November and I couldn't figure out why I had not received a new card.

I called Aspire and like everyone else who has complained on Rip Off Report, was connected to a less-than-perfect English speaking individual. I was told that my account was not closed, but it was discontiued and that Aspire was no more. The representative said that I would not receive another card but invited me to apply for another one. For what??; that's what I asked the rep. I had already been approved 4 years ago. The rep just kept repeating that I would receive "correspondence" in the mail and to wait for it.

I finally received the "correspondence" in the mail which told me nothing. I called again only to be told the same thing as before. I'm dizzy at this point. After talking to the robotic human, I request to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor gets on the line only to be more robotic than the rep. She told me that a manager decided that I didn't need to enjoy any more card privileges so it was cancelled.

They managed to charge my card an $100.00 annual fee although my card had expired the same month. I asked the supervisor where iwas the literature that said they would review my card when it expires and if they felt that they didn't want to business with the consumer anymore they could cancel services without any cause. I told them that they were out of contract for what they were doing and I am sure that legally, this was not a fair practice.

She did nothing to help me. I have emailed them (numerous times) and spoken to them. I still haven't gotten anywhere. I asked the supervisor for a corporate address. She told me that she did not have that information and could only provide a correspondence address (PO Box.)

Aspire makes it clear that they do not care about their customers and aide in helping destroy credit instead of helping rebuild it.

I would like to either join or start a class action law suit against this unfair business practicing company. If anyone knows anything about class action law suits and have the same issues (which I see a lot here) please let me know. I live in MD, but I don't think that you need to be in the same state to join a class action law suit.

my card was also declined in the similar situation. and now i just received a collection agency report that i am being sued by a collection agency when asked to confirm this the agency said it is ur account and neds to be paid. when i called the apsire company they said they cancelled my card and any fees should be paid but this was a few years ago and it never showed up on my reports but now it has and they are charging fees and all kinds of things to me.an account that started out at $150.00 is now at 6700.00 and they want the money. this company needs to be sued in return for poor customer relations.

I have been a Aspire customer for 4 years now. My inital credit limit was the crappy 350 and it was raised to 1100. I always paid my bill and made my payments. In Nov my card expired but they sent me a new card and increased my limit 900 to 1100, and they charged me my annual fee. In Decemeber I received a letter stating that my account was being closed as of midnight on 12/24/08 but please feel free to to charge until that time. I could not get a straight answer on to why my account was closed. My account was closed with a balance and then they raised the interest rate to a huge amount because there was still a balanceand the account was closed. When I called they stated I could apply for a new card. I am glad I am not the only one in this nightmare. I understand that they are a company and they have the right to closed my account. My thing is that I did not do anything wrong and now it is effecting my credit score. It is messing up the amount of available credit used.
