I don't remeber exactly what webpage I was on when I got the message that I was the 1 millionth visitor. think it was IMDB.COM. Just of interest I registered. After a couple of days I started getting phone calls from people in Florida claiming that I had been selected to get a trip to the States. When I answered the first time I was at work and was not able to speak to the person. They continued phoning me. Then on a Saturday(3dec2009) evening I did ansewer and talked to a nice women that claimed her name was Teresa Feazell Astar employee 7960 phone numer 1-800-2313760. Since I live in Finland I know Englsih but it is not my mother tongue I was a bit confused and had already taken some alcohole since it was a Saturday evening. All I know is that I had to cancel my credit card and noticed at the same time that the very same company (astar) had lifted 980 Euros from my account. Since I was a bit drunk at the time they phoned me I was an easy prey and gave them my creditcard number after they had tried to get it from me over half an hour. I am sorry if my Englsih is not so good but i think that it's one of the reasons why I agreed to give them my credit card number. I just want to give people a fair warning that whenever you give your creditcard number to anybody, anywhere, anyplace you are at risk. Please be sober and think about what you are doing. Do not be as stupid as I was. Happy new Year for what it is worth.

Phoned VISA company today

I didn't sleep very well last night. Couldn't stop thinking about how stupid I was when I gave Astar my credit card number. This morning I phoned VISA, they told me that they could see that my card had been charged but that it had been cancelled. The person at VISA said that I should phone back later this week since there still is a chance that the sum might go to billing. Even if I do get my money back I think that Astar ripps people off from what I've read on this site. They are so good at talking to you and seem so nice that you are going to give them what they want. I will keep you updated as soon as I find out more. -Sam
