Unfortunately, I've been paying Asurion through Sprint for the past 7 or 8 years. I lost my phone and I called to file a claim with Asurion, I had them charge the $50 deductible to my bill and I paid extra to have them overnight my replacement, so they did.

I received a refurbished faulty phone that was freezing up on me and was dropping calls all the time, I called them back they sent me another phone (not overnight like I paid the first time) and I returned the first one. I received the 2nd phone and it's also refurbished and doesn't work properly. This one take about 5 or 7 minutes to just bring up the key pad to dial a phone number (can you imagine if I had an emergency?) calls are dropped randomly and it's just another crappy phone.

I called them to let them know about the problem with this 2nd phone, they asked me to take it to a Sprint repair store in San Leandro, CA. Because of my work schedule and their schedule I got off work early yesterday just to make it before they closed (Sprint Store). I got there, it took them 2 hours to re-flash my phone, make a phone call and send/receive a text for them to say they could not duplicate the problem. They said "Here is your phone, we could not duplicate the problem" I asked "so what's next?" They said to call Asurion again and ask them, that they couldn't do anything because all they do with the $7.00 I pay a month for asurion is "We (Sprint) get the money from you and send a check to Asurion, they are now close and they are a 3rd party company".

I called Asurion today and this is what they told me over the phone "You (I) need to go back to Sprint and have their tech call us so we can send you another phone (A 3rd phone). I am flying out on vacation on Friday night, so I said "ok I'll get off work early again, but can you overnight me the phone like I paid for in the beginning so I can have it by Friday before I fly out?" They told me "NO". THINK ABOUT THIS TYPE OF SERVICE THEY PROVIDE BEFORE YOU PAY THEM A DIME.

I'm done with Asurion, DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I RECOMEND A WARRANTY COMPANY BY THE NAME OF SQUARETRADE Warranty. Great, no hassle service, they do not cover if lost of stolen but they do have accidental damage coverage and it's a lot cheaper than Asurion. After I see what type of run around they give me today, I'm contacting BBB.
