My Rampage IV Extreme Headache.

I was playing my games when my monitor went black.  I run dual EVGA 680 Classified so my first thought was that one of them went out.  After my computer guy did some trouble shooting it was determined that one of the PCI slots was bad.  I called up ASUS, got a RMA, and sent in the board.  A few weeks later they sent me an email that the board had bent pins and rust and it would cost $300 to repair.  I don’t use water cooling and other then the fact that one of the PCI slots wasn’t working it was running fine.  When my computer guy took it apart we both examined the board and there was no bent pins or rust, it practically looked like a new board.

After MANY calls and email exchanges they sent back the board.  When I got it back I looked and it did not even look like the same board.  I had to verify it by serial number.  This board had what looked like cat hair, finger smudges, dirt, bent pins and rust on the screws around the plate where the processor goes.  The board I sent in looked almost new.

I tried to contact someone in charge and emailed pictures of the board they sent back to me but all I got was the run around and told to contact a different department and that they didn’t handle product support.  I called product support and it rang and rang and when someone would finally pick up they just immediately hung up.

I am so frustrated.  At this point I wish I would have just kept my original board and played with just one graphics card on the working PCI slot.

I will never again buy an ASUS product.
