I was contacted by Marc Schecter, Executive Producer of Atlantis Studios Corp, via e-mail with an opportunity to advertise my products on a home shopping television show. I spoke with Marc Schecter and was told that the show went to "22 million households nationwide."

After receiving the production agreement, itinerary for the production of the showcase, the showcase script, and the airing schedule, I was sure this was a legitimate service.

After approximately a month and a half, I had NO new traffic on my website, NO new e-mails, and NO new phone calls.

A friend and I took it upon ourselves to investigate the credibility of Atlantis Studios Corp by going online and making some phone calls.

We found they have a horrible "F" rating on the Better Business Bureau website and complaints on other websites, including this site.

Also, I was given phone numbers for Comcast Fresno and America One (the two TV Stations who were to air the showcase). A friend of mine contacted an operator from directory assistance and was informed that both numbers originated from either a cell phone, pay phone, or were unlisted.

This seemed absolutely unprofessional that both TV Stations, NATIONAL COMPANIES, did not have more accessible contact information.

Another thing that seemed unprofessional is that when I contacted the supposed Marketing Director of Comcast Fresno, I asked if the showcase had been aired. The Marketing Director informed me that she did not view any of the commercials that went on air because they're located in the mountains where they don't receive a cable connection.

Why wouldn't a TV Station view a commercial before it went on air? For all they know, the commercial could contain vulgar language and/or nudity.

Along with the cost to "produce the showcase," I sent Atlantis Studios Corp several of my products that were to be featured. Marc Schecter promised to send them back after the taping of the showcase, but never did.

I decided to take this information to my attorney. The law firm demanded that Atlantis Studios Corp provide documentation that my showcase was aired.....

To date, nothing has been proven, no products have been returned, and no contact by Atlantis Studios Corp or Marc Schecter has occurred.

Ultimately, I have reason to believe that I was a victim of false advertisement from Atlantis Studios Corp.

Atlantis Studios Response to Unmerited Allegations

As with any promotion, Atlantis Studios cannot guarantee what type of response a featured guest will receive on our programs. As stated in the complaint above, we do agree with this guest that Atlantis Studios entered into a production agreement with this guest to produce a 1 minute segment for his mailbox web site, worked on a detailed itinerary for the production of the segment, scripted the segment, edited the segment, provided a detailed airing schedule and aired his segment on the show as contracted. This guest also received a copy of the 1 minute segment that aired on the show. This guest was understandably upset that he did not receive any response and questioned whether the show aired as scheduled. To ease his mind, we provided this guest with contact names and their direct phone numbers at the two networks that the show aired on. To allege that Atlantis Studios provided him with "pay phone" numbers is outrageous. Last, Atlantis Studios returns all sample products immediately after the taping. This guest failed to provide us with a call tag, shipper, COD information or any account information that we could have used to return his 5 foot, heavy-duty steel mailboxes. It is agreed contractually that the guest cover the cost of the return of the samples. To date, these mailboxes are still in our warehouse and we would be more than happy to return them upon receipt of a pre-paid call tag or shipper. Marc Schechter Executive Producer
