Atlas Asphalt Played me like a pigeon... deer park New York
OK so I used this co. to seal my driveway and those two guys did a smokin clean job. Really nice. I decided to ask if they'd install some fieldstone and they sent a rep to give me an estimate. The women at the co. are super nice. Apparently they also have their hands tied because they sent a man over here who never gave me a receipt of an estimate, he hung around not concentrating on my issue, and after all was said and done he asked me for money knowing he'd never do the job-or ask anyone ese to do it. said he'd come back and measure again, his price went up $500 in a day, he hung up on me and I was an easy customer- I ONLY WANTED FIELDSTONE on my house. He had another agenda. So of course I called and complained- I was totally played with and taken, Atlas took no responsibility in the matter and told me they wouldn't do my job because I either let the guy who never shows up handle the job - making phony plans and appts, asking for money and never coming back, or forget it, they have nobody else to send. So buyer beware here, and most people know but I couldn't imagine: NEVER give money to someone who doesnt leave you with a business card, a written estimate, and a phone # that is answered. I have never and feel do stupid. The guy refused to give me my money back and told me every day for 10 days he'd be over to do work and talk about my fieldstone. He ran, he's gone, Atlas could give a crap. They told me if I dont stick with him to get lost. Ridiculous situation-no? so i'm siding with the first complainer- i couldnt get 1 rock in my wall after the thief spent an hr here. No remeasuring, no job starting date, no plan, just give me money and i'm leaving..... crap, cant believe that happened to me. Well don't let it happen to you. Now I have to find another mason!

Forgot to add, I wasn't alone in the house when this happened. I had two men staining my deck, they heard him say he'd be back to start work, they saw me give him money after he announced "I'm gonna need some money" and they also told me later he had the gall to tell them "I don't think she's going to pay me for any work." He took my money, hung up on me when I called to fing out when he was going to show up, and I had these two unbiased men witness the whole scam.
They couldn't believe it. Thinking this is not normal behavior I accepted I was stolen from and scammed and decided to take my loss (which I really could not afford to do) because I forsaw bad things happening if I continued to try getting my money back. I hope he feels good about himself, stealing from a woman in her own home. I hope the money he stole from me brings him what he deserves. I hope there is karma- that was the nastiest thing anyone has ever done to me and I've been mugged.
