Looks like things caught up to them. They just announced last week they will be going out of business. No real point in filing a lawsuit against them. They're in debt up to their eyeballs. Their owner has taken pretty much pissed away all their revenues in investment scams.

Do you know how many people actually sell Charlie Ergan's product (DISH Network)? There are thousands of independent retailers scattered across the country - most of which don't give two sh*ts about their customers once they get their commission checks from DISH. I've actually heard stories of independent installers leaving dishes hanging off the roof by the cables and never coming back - they made DISH Network's installers come actually DO the install. Obviously, it's not hard to get a license to sell DISH Network contracts, but they do still have to follow the company's guidelines, and maintain professionalism - otherwise it reflects poorly on DISH, because that's who people think they're dealing with. The best retailers to buy DISH Network products and services from are the national stores - Radio Shack, Fry's Microcenter, etc. These stores generally have great return policies, they send out DISH Network's own installers, and generally DO care about their customers, because they know what works by EXPERIENCE. If you don't want to go through them, you can call DISH directly as well, or even order on their website.

After filing many reports against Atlas with different entities and getting the "run around", we have decided to file a federal class action suit. A friend and I were discussing my personal experience with Atlas Communications and and I found out that she and her husband had been taken advantage of as well. It has been proven that Atlas Communications has turned many, many people over to collection agencies. I'm sure some are legitimate but I'm guessing the majority are victims of deceptive trade practices. In the next few weeks, my attorney will be contacting these individuals to join forces and file suit on Atlas Communications. I cannot leave any contact information within this message but we will be running a two week ad in various newspapers around the State of Texas. Please keep an eye out in the Austin American Statesman for information (approximately 2-3 weeks) regarding this suit. FYI... Just tonight on KEYE News, they ran a report on Atlas Communications. Several victims were interviewed but no solutions were offered within the report. It is very obvious that Atlas has negatively affected many people. As every day passes, more and more victims are added to the list. Let's help society out and stop these criminals.

Just to clarify Atlas Communications seels Dish Network service contracts door-to-door. Therefore Dish Network has a relationship with these scum. Moreover, Dish Network could care less about fixing anything these people do. I have contacted them to let them know what was going on and they never attempted to fix the problem. Now I have an 18 month contract, which I will not renew. I will continue to let my community know of the scum at Dish Network and Atlas.

Altas Communications has nothing to do with Dish Network, and vice versa. Dish Network is owned by Echostar Communications.

Jbuchta: Like you, My wife and I were scammed by Atlas Communications. Since our encounter, we have filed reports with: The Better Business Bureau in Utah, Texas Attorney General's Office, Federal Trade Commission and our own Rip Off Report. We have also: closed and reopened bank accounts, consulted with an attorney and contacted KEYE News in Austin. We received a response back from KEYE today that stated that they would run a report on Atlas Communications only if they received multiple complaints. For you, and everyone else that has fallen victim to this company, please notify KEYE. Although our encounter with Atlas is in the early stages, they are the only group that has responded to any correspondence. This company and their scam artists they call sales reps need to be stopped immediately before other unsuspecting people fall victim to their unethical sales and customer service tactics. Feel free to contact me at: (((ROR REDACTED))) CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.
