maggie gives you an opportunity alright, the opportunity to be brainwashed. my family was convinced that i was brainwashed while i was working there. the garbage that poured out of my mouth because i was fed by them, sounded like a crazy person talking. now looking back, i was. but i got out. what is absolutely true? 1. standing in "atmosphere" for 2+ hours. no sitting 2. getting there so early just to impress maggie...so you can get to leadership...who makes up the rules? 3. when you got back around 5 or 6, she won't cash you out!! you have to stay until she feels like letting you go home...unless you want to go home without being paid. 4. you get yelled at like a child for everything you do wrong. 5. they do talk badly about every employee...i've heard it. 6. daniel langston is very nice, but i listened to him flat out lie to a friend of mine about something i said. baaaad business (it's called karma) 7. we had an entire meeting one night about what to tell interviews to try to "close" them. in other words, lie without actually lying 8. i watched every person who worked there lie to there interviews by saying "my purpose today is to show you a hard day, not to sell anything"....so i guess people who take out an interview everyday, makes no money. sad. bad business. bad ethics. bad place...run fast and if anyone knows how, please tip off the IRS...maggie's going down!!!!

First of all, let me start with telling you that Daniel has come a long way with Atlas. He is a great guy. I dont see him being shady in any kind of way to ANYONE!! Daniel actually was recently promoted to management and is doing great at running his own office. As far as Maggie goes, she doesnt force anyone to work for her company, she simply gives you the opportunity. To the person who wrote this mess, if you knew that you hated it on the 2nd round interview, then why would you work for this company? It is very obvious that you worked with Atlas for some time. I never worked for Atlas, but I worked for the sister company as the administrator. I worked side by side with Maggie and her administrator. I will be the first to tell you that I have seen several people make it in the business. I have seen people start at entry level and move up to Ownership. Maggies office is full of great hard working people. Just because there are no background checks involved does not mean that these people are criminals or that they should not be given the opportunity. There is nothing about this place that is a scam. They have great products that do sell. I know that most of the people that work there live on their own and pay their own bills with what they make at Atlas. I even know that several of them are single parents who make it in life with working JUST AT ATLAS!! If anyone in this business was not making money don't you think the business would fail? And as the administrator for the sister company, I have seen the owners bank account. I have seen the large deposits. I have seen the growth and success!

Having worked in a Smart Circle office in Toronto... I can say that everything that was written here is 100% consistant with what the other smart circle offices are like. The typical response of a Smart Circle employee is to say that "you couldn't hack it". They never seem to understand that you don't WANT the oppertunity.

I used to work for Atlas last year for a couple of months, and there are a couple of items that I feel like I need to correct... I was actually on Daniel and Joel's team, and they are in no way, shape, or form like a "cult." They're both very popular among the employees because they're very personable, energetic, fun, and incredibly friendly to their co-workers. They just-so-happen to be better at their job than most of the other employees at Atlas. Of course, that has something to do with them being incredibly charismatic. There is nothing shady about them, and I don't like that this report makes them look bad. Also, like the other rebuttal says, Daniel IS a singer and model, and for the record, he's actually REALLY talented. In all honesty, the entire reason why I stayed at this job after the Predators campaign ended (that's when I actually did make over a hundred dollars per a day) was because of my co-workers, ESPECIALLY Daniel and Joel. I can't speak for the employees that started after me... but as for Daniel, Joel, Maggie, and everyone else at Atlas when I was there, they were all very nice and a lot of fun so I really enjoyed their company. I couldn't imagine them giving you weird looks or anything negative like that. Also, the reason why they raised their hands is because Maggie asked them who wanted to grow their business and then she picks which ones she wants to take out the interviews. As for the rest of the article, this job isn't for everyone. The hours are incredibly long just like it stated. You don't technically HAVE to be at work until 9 am, but if you want to get into a leadership role, you are expected to be at work at 7:30 am. During that time, it is supposed to hype you up, allow you time to practice your presentation, and then as it was mentioned earlier, leaders would have impacts to teach us more about succeeding in the business. This was my favorite part of the day because I was allowed to be around the other incredibly hilarious and fun Atlas workers. The rest of the day, you were expected to walk alone business-to-business all over Nashville and it's surrounding cities. I had to go all the way to Tullahoma and Manchester on countless occasions... We didn't get gas money, and sometimes, the person you road with would stiff you on their portion of the gas money. I became a leader and eventually got to the point where I HATED bringing people out on their second interviews because I was stuck on campaigns for things like Papa Johns and would make like $9 in commission some days. No one in their right mind would want to stick around with a company when the person taking them out is making like NOTHING for working 7:30 am to sometimes as late as 9 pm. Not to mention, we were supposed to compensate the people who were in training, so we would usually give them a portion of our commission for that day. When you're making $9 some days, having to pay for gas and your own food, and then usually breakfast or lunch for your trainee... You would end up in the hole for working MORE than a full day of work... One good thing was that I had a few other employees that would go out with me and we would go business-to-business together so that we at least wouldn't be stuck walking around alone not selling much because you were on a CRAPPY campaign. Then it was like I was just hanging out with a friend all day instead of working, so that was nice... The thing is, you can honestly make A LOT of money some days. When I was on the Predators campaign during my first couple of weeks, I would make between 500-700 a week, and it was AMAZING! But as soon as that campaign ended... the money went DRASTICALLY downhill. Some days would be better than others so it would KIND OF make up for the lack of money you were making the other days, but not really... I only stayed on because I enjoyed the other employees so much and because I had high hopes for the Nashville Sounds campaign to start. I started to make my $100 a day again, but after a few days, a few unfortunate co-workers and I got moved to the Atlanta Braves campaign. With the exception of a few incredibly good selling days, that campaign didn't make THAT much money for us either when we were out in the actual field. A lot of times, I would get my parents and brother if their co-workers would want to buy anything. I made A LOT of my commission that way. Just so you know though, the Smart Circle cards DO work. So they're NOT a scam. It's just that all of the promises of going up in the company and making SO much money is kind of a long shot... It can happen. BUT it takes A LONG time. If you REALLY like selling things that people probably don't really need... And don't mind the instability of not knowing if you were going to make a decent amount of commission for that day... or anything at all... If you can deal with some people being INCREDIBLY rude to you because you're soliciting... Then this job might be for you. If you can't handle those things, then you definitely shouldn't apply. Just don't think that the actual employees there are all drug addicts, criminals, or scam artists. When I worked there, the majority of them, including Maggie, were all good people who I really enjoyed working with.

The report filed against this company is completly untrue. I didnt work for atlas but i have worked for a smart circle company in the dallas market and everything filed in the report is false. Now since i didn't work under maggie i cant comment on the music or the long interview wait but i do know that whoever filed the report had to have worked for atlas because they know way too much information about the company and the main players such as the all famous micheal terrinoni. your telling me that you went on an interview and didnt even work for this company but you know what kind of car she drives, what promotions have been cut, the names of people on peoples teams, and it was at this point of your bashing that i knew you were full of crap when you typed this: Some people are known to stay until almost 9 p.m. All of which is far different from the 9-5 they advertised. Once you're in the back, you have to sit through "Impacts" which are considered mini meetings in which other "leaders" coach everyone. You aren't allowed to sit. The only chairs are in the Lobby. So you stand for at least 2 hours in the morning, go out and work for 8+ hours, and come back. You are encouraged to not take more than a 15 minute lunch otherwise you'll ruin your "Law of Averages". You are not allowed to speak negatively, ever. Otherwise, you'll "Neg" people out. Everyone says "JUICE" all the time, in agreement with things, to congratulate people, EVERYTHING! The only way you would have experienced and known about any of this is if you got hired and went through the program. JUICE and NEG those are terms i didnt know until 3 weeks into the program. As far as your research goes, you cant find that information. when i worked in dallas i would always try to find more information about other companies like ours because i wanted to move and the only way to find it is word of mouth. they dont post it on the internet. i didn't become an owner because i too am a musician and decided to put 100 percent into that but my experience with smart circle was great. it made me a better person and i am friends with people i went through the field with and yes they are making a 6 figure income and happy. For anyone interested in a great oppurtunity i would apply to this company but know that it takes alot of work and dedication to advance but the payoff is well worth it. And for the person that posted the report you are truly pathetic. Just because you didn't have what it takes, you post a report to bash a company that you most definitly worked for. you can say you didnt but you know you did. And if you didn't and you got this info from a friend and you stayed up all night together filing the report, well then you and your friend are both pathetic. life's not fair, some people have what it takes some dont. my advice to you GET A LIFE OF YOUR OWN AND STOP TRYING TO USE LIES TO RUIN OTHERS. To everyone else DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE this is just another case of a lying disgruntled employee

It isn't that I am trying to defend Smart Circle or any of their owners but I do think that you have unfairly judged some of these individuals. I too worked for Maggie, in fact I was on her expansion team from Atlanta (CV's office) and I don't know that in a business like that you will ever find someone who is as honest and genuine as Cristina. Further more most of the people who write on here all talk about how it is impossible to get your own office. I was an Owner in Tampa before I left the biz, I ran my crew. Yes it is true that I didn't have as much control of my office as I had been led to believe I would have. I didn't make as much money as I was told owners make, even though I sold more Merch then a lot of these owners that were promoting how much money they were making. But you have to understand that is how any commission based business works, you always over promote and talk about the guy that is doing the best you never talk about the average. If they did that they would have to tell you that the majority of owners quit. No one wants to here that, but if you sit down with Mike T or CV and talk to them you will find out that they promote the positives and shy away from the negatives (just like anyone else) until you ask. I was in the biz for a year and a half and I can tell you in that time I had plenty of one on ones with both of these individuals and neither one of them ever lied to me, they never said it would be easy, and even though they detested the 9-5 work style when I left neither one put me down. Now every once in a while I will run into someone marching and I've noticed the difference between ex-owners and ex-leaders is one simple thing; ex-owners always say, it just wasn't for me leaders will tell you every which way how it was a scam and they were lied to, the truth is you can make a ton of money doing this job but as Paul, Mike, and Cristina all told me you won't do it off of running one office. If you think it is fake go down to Miami go to Mike's huge condo, then tell me there's no money in it. Yes you have to get to the top to make the good money but isn't that the case with most businesses? Am I happier since I left? Yeah, I guess, I left a lot of great friends when I left the biz but I do see my wife a lot more, I still don't work 9-5 mon. thru fri. but I do make about 3 times what I was making there. Would I have made more? Who knows, there are a lot of guys who make a lot of money in that biz and a lot who don't. In the end I will say the same thing the ex-owners I met in the field told me when I asked why they quit it just wasn't for me, nothing against those guys, they work hard and play harder, so do I. Do I regret it? No, I loved my time with Smart Circle. I do think their view on the rest of working America is skewed but your view on them is pretty skewed too. I have me Daniel, I thought he was a good guy, I was a little pissed he wasn't on my team, and by the way he really is a singer and does some modeling too.
