My name is Mario, we are residents of the Regency Manor Apartments 5042 Wildflower dr. in San antonio, texas, We have been living here for 11 months( check out apt. ratings on the internet) when we moved here we were never informed about all the criminal activity associated with this complex.I am a disabled veteran rated at 100% disability and ex-special forces ret.my auto has Purple heart plates, a few weeks ago my son-in-law's car was towed away by atlas towing,we tried to get the car back but because my son-in-law is in the military in s korea we were told he would have to claim his auto himself,a couple of nights ago the same towing company came after my auto while we were asleep,we were awoke by a neighbor who witnessed the tow man trying to hook up to my car, I confronted the tow man and asked him what he was doing,he said that my car was in a handicap parking space and that he was towing my car away.I had to physically stop him,I told him that I was disabled and told him I was calling the police,he said in an angry tone" get your damm car out of this space, which I did. This goes on everynight and all the apartment manager's says is that they have a contract with this company and that the towing company is only doing their job .this company just drives around most of the night towing cars away. we have alot of people from Mexico living here who have had their cars towed, but are afraid to complain, they just give up their cars without a fight. There is one tow away sign on the entire complex, sometimes people don't see it.short of shooting the tow man, there is nothing we can do. the police are not doing anything about the abuse, hopefully you can tells us what to do.I contacted the atlas towing company and was told the same as the manager.please help. Thank you mario

My name is Brad and like the person who filed this ripoff report against Atlas Towing, I too was towed from this apartment complex. People call this place the " ghetto" I was just visiting and was not more that 15 minutes into my visit when Someone told me my car had been towed. I'm a law student at UTSA. I am filing a law suit against this complex and so should this disabled Veteran, also the Texas Attorney General's Office will accept your complaint. They are already familier with your case. Also the signs that are now installed are paid for by the towing company, they have their company logo and Phone number on them. Keep that in mind when you file your complaint.

Being a veteran, you know it should have been done BEFORE he left, but he can still do it and you can get the car. Next, don't park where you shouldn't. Why weren't you displaying a handicap parking placard and ID? A purple- heart plate doesn't meet any legal requirement, or does it? I'm surprised you weren't maced and arrested for assault when you confronted the truck driver. "People from Mexico" aren't exempt from obeying US laws and regulations. They should have learned how to park legally before getting their license, just like everyone else. Texas isn't Mexico, and if they easily gave up their cars it was for a reason. Not registered and insured, perhaps? The police "aren't "helping" because they know the towers are in the right.
