I go to pay my bill on line...and all my payments were declined.  I call to make the payment, and again, all my types of payments declined....After talking to a representiitive she told me it was not their fault and to call "Matrtex" who I guess collects payments for them.  I call matrex, was on hold for an hour until someone finally answered and said I was "blocked" from paying.  (Why?). Meanwhile I have someone callining me that they are shutting off my gas.  I explain that I have the money to pay, but your company wont take my money.  I again call ATMOS, expained the sutuation, and they gave me 3 addressses to go to that would take cash.  ALL three places that were listed on the Web sight said thay have nothing to do with ATMOS.  My driving time to each of these places was 2 hours.  I again call ATMOS an they said they alredy turned off my gas.  It is anot 25 degrees.  The next day I went to 3 other places that is listed on rgeit Web sight to pay the bill.  The 3rd on finally was able to pay ATMOS with cash.  Now they refuse to turn on my gas without a large deposit. My cat and 3 parrots  froze to death.  Meanhile, all my credit cards have always been in good standing and have never been declined.

That is a load of crap.  I have Atmos and I can't stand them BUT is has not been cold enough in North Texas to kill anything.  So your cat and birds dying is not believable PLUS you have access to INTERNET so your electricity is working!! I live in Dallas, have had my gas turned off when it was SLEETING AND SNOWING OUT and all my dogs and cats survived.

If you had the money and your credit cards are in such good stading, why did you wait until the day they were going to come to shut off your gas and electricity to pay your bill?

Oh and don't say they didn't give you enough time.  You get a couple of "warnings" AFTER you are initally delinquent.  Then you get a "Final Notice" where you have 15 days to pay.  So it wasn't like you just "forgot" to pay your bill.

You like many "deadbeats" figured you could gamble and hold off on paying your bill.  Unfortunatly companies are getting smart and not putting up with the delay tactics anymore.  You gambled..You lost.
