3rd ats trans in truck and it is bad w/about 5000 miles on it. manager and owner at ats will not even call me back after several messages
I oiginally bought my ats 5R110 with ats converter and ats deep pan from a local dealer(which is no longer a dealer because of not getting paid for warranty work, his words)in march 2008 for $6180.94 including labor and shipping. that one lasted about 3yrs. 4mo. 40,000 miles before it went out the shop I got it from found large amount of metal in filter and fluid so he sent it back and the repaired or replaced it which cost me about $1000.00 in labor and shipping. no. 2 lasted about 1yr 8mo. 19,000 miles before it overheated welding the clutches together. this put me right at the 5yr mark for the warranty but no where near the 500,000 mile limit.
The original shop is not a dealer now so I had a different shop remove it and ship it back (AGAIN) costing me about another $1000.00. this time ats told me that the replacement did not come with a warranty because my 5yrs was up. which I told them I felt like I should get one since their transmissions don't seem to be holding up but they did not agree. no.3 lasted about 1-1/2 yrs but only about 5000 miles before it has started having several issues. I was talking with a person there trying to resolve my issues and he seemed very helpful until he noticed that my warranty was up but I did tell him that it was up when I first talked to him but apparently he forgot. So I decided to talk to the manager Mike to see if he could do anything for a customer that now has about $9000.00 invested in a trans that still doesn't work, but after leaving several voicemails and having the girl that answers the phone write down a message to personally hand him just incase he wasn't getting the voicemails he still will not talk to me. so I looked up the owner Clint Cannon called him and even messaged him on facebook with no response. ats builds transmissions for sled pulling drag racing and any other kind of abuse you can throw at it. my truck has minimal power upgrades, stock turbo, stock injectors and has never hooked or been on drag strip all I use it for is pulling my 6000lbs camper a few times a year and some road trips, but their trans cant even handle that.

I would like to clarify this "rip-off" report posting. I work for ATS Diesel Performance. We would just like to say a few things to clarify this story. This customer did purchase a transmission from us via a dealer. He has had a warranty concern in the past. We never want a transmission failure but unfortunatley these things do happen, however what we try to do is make sure we take care of the customer. We take very careful notes on each customer to make sure that we can help them as completely as possible. One of many things that was not mentioned was there was custom aftermarket transmission tuning installed and that when removed solved "the several issues it was having" but had already caused damage. Also each warranty concern this customer has had, we have repaired the transmission at no cost for the repairs per our warranty terms. Below are a couple links to our warranty terms. ATS did not claim abuse or try to elude our responsibility to this customer at any time. Every transmission sent out comes with these documents and are signed and returned with the customer's core.
