AT&T Wireless lied from day one dishonest misrepresentation practice Louisville - Kentucky Aurora Illinois
When I got my service in July 2003, I was lead to believe I would have a $39.99 per month bill. this included Free Nationwide Long Distance, 600 anytime minutes, and unlimited nights and weekends.
No deposit required, no activation fee and a Free phone. This was great!
Until I got home and realized my new cell phone didn't have any service. However I did tell the sales rep I lived in the country. She said "No Problem". "You'll have service". I Didn't!
I could have lived with that, but the unthinkable was about to happen. I was leaving the state of Kentcuky with my new AT&T Wireless phone.
That was a big mistake! My $39.99 plan just turned into $281.34 phone bill. It is now over $800.00.
After speaking with 3 different CSR's I was getting no where.
One of the CSR's told me I could leave the state of Kentucky without being charged, as long as I stayed in the AT&T Wireless service area.
Which meant all I had to do was make sure to phone showed "AT&T WIRELESS", and I was in the service area. Wrong, she lied!!
Of course theres also the verbal agreement I found out about when I starting complaining to the company. Which was after the fact.
As a consumer I have been very misinformed and mislead.
AT&T needs to be upfront with customers we dont like to find vital information out after the fact. This is wrong!!
As of March 1, 2004 I sent a copy of letter to the Better Business Bureau and to the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division.
There is a class action lawsuit pending against AT&T Wireless in Sacramento as we speak.
There needs to be a class action suit against AT&T Wireless Nationwide!!
