AT&T ripoff fraudulent long distance billing Bedminster New Jersey
AT&T who is not our long distance provider charged us for 2 calls to the Solomon Islands. The first three service reps we talked to said they were computer related, such as a visit to an internet porn site. The last person, a supervisor, when told we have cable internet and no phone line to our computer then said they were direct dialed calls.
We are absolutely adament that neither phone calls nor internet visits to this site originated from inside our house. AT&T requires us to prove it to them. How are we supposed to do this?
The phone calls were to 67767093 in the Solomon Islands, billed as direct "economy overseas" calls , the first one at 5:04 am on June 22 for 22 minutes ($135.59) followed by a 2 minute call at 5:27 am, for $15.80. And they bill us for a monthly service charge of $4.54.
These phone calls were not made from our house and we maintain that we are not responsible for them.

ATT will adjust on a 1 time basis for these calls!!

I am an employee of AT&T and direct dial calls are extremily accurate and your local phone company actually routes the calls you make to the correct company. You say were are not selected to AT&T in order fo rus to bill you must have reached an AT&T operator for the call to be routed through our network. Another thing is that AT&T will give a one time courtesy adjustments to our customers 100% for internet #'s (some are both internet and voice and they still get 100% adjustment)and if its a voice call we will give a One time courtesy adjustment as well of 50%. I have done these adjustments some as high as $1700.00 ( I have heard other CCA give higher adjustment!We then recommend you add an international block on the acctount for your protection as future adjustments will not be granted! We give you this adjustment regardless of your acknowledgment of making the call. Another thing it is an extremily high scam for these adult entertainment companies to have you connect without your knowledge!! If your computer is able to dial up a phone call which most are regarless of if its cable/dsl/or dial up these companies can access you through the computer and have you incur these charges! It is not us that is trying to get your money its them and as an employee seeing the adjustments we grant for this I believe AT&T if more than helpful to our customers! I could not beleive when I started with AT&T this policy as they still have to pay the Adult Entertainment Company for the call that thye would give the customers the oppurtunity to adjust these calls!!I think mabye you may have spoken to the wrong rep or have misqouted us!!
