I called At&t about the telemarketing "Neighbor Spoof" calls that I was receiving all day long on 6/29/2018. Heres the response I got from the customer rep:

- I can add more add ons to your calling plan

- As for the calls that have no phone number and say "Out of Area" on the caller ID. You probably don't have "Anonymous Call Rejection". I told her I do, her reply was that it's probably turned off (it wasn't because I tested it before calling). They can't do anything about it because the telemarketers are bypassing it.

- She offered even more At&t products.

- I asked if At&t can submit a formal complaint to the FCC, she said the FCC wasn't accepting any more complaints from At&t.

- She suggested I sign up with Nomorobo.com because it's run by the government. I could also upgrade my plan to their digital phone plan (At&t VoIP) or get a cell phone plan.

- When I told her that the calls were harassment, she told me to call the police. I called the police and they said to contact my phone company.

I also submitted my complaint at At&t Community, which is their online help forum. But that was waste of time, they didn't answer my question and their troll users made fun of my comments and questions.

The calls started up again on 7/02/2018, so I called At&t again. Here's the response I got this time:

- It's digital calls coming from a computer, their "Anonymous Call Rejection" doesn't work with that.

- I could to sign up with Nomorobo, it's owned by At&t and it's free to At&t U-verse Voice (At&t VoIP).

- He also said that "National Do Not Call Registry" might've expired and I would have to sign up again (This isn't true, the FTC website specifically states that it never expires).

- He also said that At&t constantly submits complaints to the FCC.

Last year, when I got bombarded by telemarketing calls (aka scam calls), I contacted At&t and submitted a complaint. Guess what happened? The telemarketing calls completely stopped. So, I find it very suspicious that they didn't do the same thing this time. In my opinion, it looks more like they allowed these telemarketers to harass me, so I would abandone my landline for their At&t VoIP (aka At&t U-verse Voice) or cell phone plans. If that's true, that's a very deceptive marketing tactic.

If you've had a similar experience with At&t, please file a complaint with the FTC and FCC so they can investigate them. This type of behavior shouldn't be tolerated. Also, note that telemarketers that hide their real number (or caller ID spoofing) can still be traced. The FTC has stopped various illegal telemarketing operations that have done this, so they can be traced and prosecuted.

You are blaming on the wrong guy. The source of those calls are not from any phone providers but rather spamers/scammers. If you think that it is from AT&T, you should switch the provider. I guarantee you that you will experience the same. The reason is that those robo call and/or scammer are using a VoIP number which will be tossed after a week or a month at maximum.

One way to deal with it is to not answer any phone call with unknown number. Those numbers starts with 800, 866, 888 are especially solicited phone call. Any numbers with unfamiliar area code are also very likely to be solicited. If your phone can block numbers, do so.

Your effort to call AT&T won't help or solve anything. You will need to live with it. No, any federal agency won't take the case because any of this are low-profile case. Besides, it is not worth their time and resources to try to find the culprits. There are too many of them and many of them are living outside of the country (see VoIP).

Please read what I wrote and not what you want to read. The fact still remains true that At&t's customer service reponse to the problem was very deceptive and should be investigated. If you work for At&t, then you should more concerned with who gave these reps that authority to lie to the customer? Where were their supervisor's during this? Are customer reps being forced to sell at all cost?

But from your response, I can see that you were hired to insult customers. This only shows the public that At&t is doesn't care about their customer base but only money.

I am sorry to say that if these are the type of comments you were posting on their forum, it is no wonder you got the responses there that you did.

As if you look at what your "theory" really states. You are basically saying that AT&T came up with a marketing plan to allow Robo Calls through to your Cell Phone so that you get so ticked off you would change your Landline to AT&T. Does that really make sense to you?

Perhaps you should read this little article from the FCC.

nclc.org/media-center/robocalls-volume-breaks-records-fcc-could-open-floodgates.html

Notice one key statmeent they made.

According to the call-blocking app YouMail’s Robocall Index, robocalls made to consumers in the month of May (2018) exceeded 4 billion, the highest one-month total on record.

I guess with this AT&T must be raking in the new business to their landlines.  Perhaps you should go talk to the FCC and blow the whistle on AT&T.

Look don't get me wrong, yes Robocalls are a big nuisance.  But the reality is that the way they are currently being spoofed it makes it hard if not impossible to block every single one.  I would bet that for every one that AT&T(and other carriers) block, they probably stop another 10.

But perhaps this will make you feel a bit better
