The Better Business Bureau says it best: We strongly question the companys reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the laws licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations.

I am very disappointed in Authorized Movers service to say the least. On Dec. 18, 2007, we had agreed on a price of $2522, consisting of 5515 lbs in weight. This was to include packing and labor of one large T.V., 2 32" inch T.V., and one full computer system. Any additional weight would be charged at .46 cents a pound. They assured me that no additional charges would be added other than for additional weight. We had also agreed on a pick up date of Monday January 7, 2008. This move was from Edinburg, Texas to Clearwater, FL.

On Sunday January 6, 2008, a Representative of Authorized Movers (Isaac) contacted me to schedule a pick up and delivery date and time. Isaac advised that if I agreed to allow his drivers to reschedule the pick-up date to January 8th, it would benefit us both. Isaac assured me that by picking up at a later date he would be able to deliver the furniture on Friday January 11, 2008. I unfortunately agreed to alter my travel plans to accommodate Authorized Movers and reschedule for 8 am the morning of January 8th. I was also assured by Isaac that I would be contacted by the pick-up driver thirty minutes prior to arrival.

On the morning of January 8th, as 8 am approached I was not contacted by Isac nor the driver. I was unable to make contact with Isaac to determine when the driver would arrive until 11 am.

The driver and his helper finally arrived just after 11 am. This was very unprofessional and irresponsible.

The driver and his helper, however did an excellent job of packing and loading the truck. Upon departing, I followed the truck to a weight station. At the weight station, I was informed that I had exceeded the agreed on weight by 85 lbs.

The driver informed me that I was to pay the cost of the additional weight. He required that I pay an additional $206 dollars. This was paid under protest as 85 additional pounds at .47 cents does not come anywhere near $206 dollars.

On the morning of January 11th, I was unable to make contact with anyone from Authorized Movers. Isaac refused to return any phone calls. Later in the day, I was able to make contact with a secretary who informed me that the truck had not departed Dallas, Texas and had no idea when this would happen.

On Monday January 14th, the original delivery date, I was informed by Isaac that the truck had departed Dallas, Texas and was on it's way to Florida. He however could not provide the expected delivery date.

On Tuesday January 15th, I attempted to contact Isaac a minimum of 15 times with negative results. The secretary informed me that she had indeed provided Isaac with my message and contact number. Later that day, I managed to make contact with Isaac, who in turn informed me that the truck was presently in Atlanta, George. Isaac continued to state that he did not know when delivery would be made.

Isaac also informed me that I needed to pay in full the remainder of the balance. Isaac stated that the remainder of the balance was $1,561. This is a total of $3,028. This is far above the agreed upon price.

As of January 17, 2008, I have still not received my furniture.

I will continue updating this until All is resolved.

Fri, January 18, 2008

On January 17, 2008, I was able to make contact with a Corporate Representative. He was very understanding and professional. Subject later called back and informed me that my move was to be delivered later that evening or early the next morning. He also advised that he would have the driver call with a more concrete update. Later in the day, the driver hauling my move called. He informed me that the earliest he could deliver was January 19, 2008. This was due to the distance between his last drop off and my house. It sounded reasonable and he was professional about it. We will see how things go over the weekend. R. Lee
