After extensive renovation of a derelict small hotel in this coastal Rhode Island community, I needed to control laundry costs for a 5(FIVE) Executive Suite Resort. I contacted Alliance Laundry Systems District Office in New Hampshire and received a flyer detailing The Horizon Line of Commercial Equipment.

On July 12, 2002 I issued a check to Automatic Laundry in the amount of $1952.75 to Sales Agent Doug Jones. Per faxed Equipment Sales Contract I bought an LTS80 Speed Queen Commercial Front-Load Washer non-metered 18lb Capacity for $1125.00 and a SD6009 Speed Queen non-metered single load dryer.

The Limited Warranty, from Alliance Laundry Systems, LLC, Ripon, WI 54971 bears Part No. 200583 and was printed January 2000. It specifically states there is a Limited Parts Warranty (Parts Only) on "The Horizon Frontload Washer bearings and seal assembly during the second through fifth year."

As of December 14, 2005, I have received a fax from Alliance telling me to contact a different supplier and a copy of the new "3 year Limited Warranty" which now states there is only a "one-year(12 months) parts only warranty on entire product" if used in a "hotel".

Additional phone calls to Automatic Laundry go unanswered. The other supplier states he has gotton a lot of complaints regarding that dealership. He would order me the part(s) but would have to charge me (@$300 plus shipping) pending a decision by corporate.

I was lured into buying a "lemon" advertised as being of "commercial" grade. I have been to their website (alliancels.com) and noticed this model is no longer advertised. For the same amount of money I could have bought 4 household washers and still have 3 new ones left.

Automatic Laundry Systems: Mystery Parts!!!!

This is the continuing saga of my lack of service from the Speed Queen Distributor, Automatic Laundry located in West Newton, Massachusetts. I was informed by my maintainance man (a Department of Defense aircraft mechanic working for Maytag) that the parts listed in the Alliance Laundry System(Speed Queen)Parts Manual #800400R1 are not the broken parts taken out of my 18# commercial washing machine. Where did they come from? Is this a $1250 example of "Bait & Switch"? Who did the switching? Speed Queen? Automatic Laundry Sytems? Certainly Shakespeare was right on target ...a lemon "by any other name would "have cost less and lasted longer.
