I paid $19.95 for an upgrade to Avast Pro Internet Security, but was unable to register the product, and their customer service email me told me to call their tech support if I had any problems, I contacted tech suppor and they said I had some virus problems that they had to remove before I could register my product.

I am sure most people on the internet have some virus problems on their computer so I believe this is just a scam by Avast, I will uninstall it and rely on Microsoft Internet security in the future.  This is just a scam by Avast, which really surprised me as I had always thought highly of the company, but, no longer, It just proves you cannot trust anyone on the internet.  I will dispute the charge with my Bank, If they do not give me and immediate refund, which I double very much, because of my experience.  Sincerely,

i purchased avast anti virus online and was charged on my credit card 39.99 for the anti virus protection...after a couple of months my anti virus had disappeared off my computer...i called avast to have it re downloaded onto my pc and was told it could not be downloaded because of "garbage" on my pc...so i was told i could have it all cleaned up and anti virus put back on for 99.00 so i agreed to let them proceed...i could see them on my pc doing whatever...it was late and i never recevied a call back saying it was finished but nothing else was going on my pc...the next morning when i saw that it had been completed i tried to get online and could not...i first called my my high speed servcier and they ran all types of test on modem etc and found nothing wrong on there end, i then called avast back telling them i couldnt use my pc...i stayed on phone with them for 5 hours trying to find out why i couldnt connect..they deleted the anti virus thinking that was the resaon i couldnt connect...still no connection...i was able to get online prior to the avast technician working on my computer and now i couldnt ...they proceeded to tell me that they didnt mess it up and i would not be getting a refund after i asked for one...so now im out 39.99 for the anti virus that the removed as well as 99.00 for the clean p and now i have a pc that does not work...im so furious i dont know what to do...they ripped me off or should i say ripped my 74 year old mother off....

Avast is not a scam, you already have a virus on your computer that prevents avast from installing. the virus intentionally prevents you from installing antivirus software so you cant get rid of it.

and most people dont have virus problems on their computers only people who click on stupid crap like free coupons or you won click here and get the new virus i have for you or people who search for porn, warez or serialz.

so get rid of the virus before you attempt to install antivirus software, you will need virus removal tools and not a program that prevents you from getting a virus.

your describing yourself throwing up all over and then taking anti-nausea medicine and not being able to keep down the anti-nausea medicine.
