We rented a car in Fort Lauderdale on July 13, 2020, returned the card in New Orleans on July 17, 2020

at the counter to Brian.

All was fine until December 14th received a letter dated December 4, 2020, that on the 15th our cc that we rented the car with would be charged for damage of a mirror at the cost of $409.32.

The letter said "Please be advised that the expense listed above will be applied to your debit or credit card that you presented at the time of rental approximately one week after the mailing date of this letter.

By the time we received the letter, they had already hit our account to get the money.

I attempted to call and get to the bottom of this. I started phoning at 9 am and by 12 noon.

by that time I had exhausted my attempts to clear this up. I called the number on the letter sent by someone named Nora Henry, her title was listed under her name on the letter as "Emergency Road Service Specialist"

One Customer Service Clerk in the Roadside assistance Dept giggled when I asked to speak to Nora Henry.

When she laughed I asked if there really was a Nora Henry, she laughed. And directed me back to one of the numbers I had already called.

I had dialed 888.409.9362, 866.446.8376, 800.352.7900, 800.962.1434, spoke to people 6 people in different departments. I was transferred and directed and re-directed back to the beginning.

After being on the phone for 3 hours. I needed a  break, but I called on last time to a CSR "Jesus." he told me that the notes indicated that as a courtesy they were willing to take some money off the bill. I replied with I hadn't left the car with a broken mirror and did not want a discount, I want it removed. I was then told there was nothing he could do. That's it. End of the phone conversation.

Sadly we didn't take a photo of the car when we returned it. I would suggest you protect yourself by taking date stamped photos and putting them with your rental.
