Avs - kirby ripoff after getting hired by kirby promised 1800 a month don't think is going to happen Abilene texas
Just like everyone, I was looking for honest work to support my family. I called the number in the Sunday paper and was told it was for Kirby vaccum. On the phone I was promised 1800 dollars a month and no selling.
When I walked in I had to put all my information including my social security number down on a piece of paper all with six other people. Expecting to fill out a W4 form I was never given one and it was never stated that one would be filled out.
I went in for the interview and was told all I had to do was show the product. The appointments would be set up for me. Go back in for my first day of training and the truth comes out. Now instead of the 1800 I was promised, they tell me it is 245 to 375 per vaccum that I sell. On top of that I have to set up the first 12 appointments. Then I was told that if I could get someone else to join and sell 10 kirbys then I would receive 1 Kirby free. Then for everyone I could get to join and they sold 10 vaccums that would be more vaccums that I would recieve for free. What do I need with that many vaccums?
In the long run I have to come to see that it was one big scam. If you are in Abilene, do not even waste your time and effort on a company calling themselves AVS. I guess the first clue should have been that the building is for sale.

I am a representative for the Company you have filed this complaint on. First off, you are guaranteed the MONTHLY amount. No sales required. Seriously. You are required (company policy) to fill out a full application FOR BACKGROUND CHECK PURPOSES. How do we know it's you without your SS# and such? No one at this company will EVER fill out a W4, simply because when you come to work for us, you are considered an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. You pay your own taxes and such. Ok, now to clarify pay...
CURRENT PAY SCALES:
* $2000 MONTHLY with or without sales
* 10% Comissions on qualified sales
* 10/3 BONUS - 10 Demos with 3 Sales = $300 Bonus on top of WEEKLY Comission check

you are required to set upyour first few appointments FOR PRACTICE! Why would we let a new dealer out into the world with real potential customers with NO EXPERIENCE?

When they meet the 10 sales quota, you get a FREE KIRBY. This applies to ALL YOUR BUDDIES! So say you bring 5 Buddies in and the all meet the 10 sales quota... then you ask "What do I need with that many vacuums?" HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Really? Obviously you sell them and pocket the $MONEY$ because they are YOUR KIRBYS! Duh! That's why the Bring a Buddy Program IS AMAZING!
Kirby is nothing close to a scam. and BTW, the building is for sale because we MOVED. So again I will say, GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!
