Well, at least I am glad to see that there are others who have had problems and bad dealings with Fingerhut. I too have order merchandise from Fingerhut in the past. Some of the merchandise was either lost, arrived damaged, did not match the description. It seems that I have received the same run around as most people. My merchandise was shipped by Fingerhut either via the USPS or UPS but it was MY responsibility to file claims for lost or damaged merchandise.

To this day, one of my claims for damaged merchandise has never been settled. I had ordered end tables and a cocktail table with glass tops. The glass for two of the tables arrived broken. On one of the pieces, the UPS driver told me that it was broken and showed me the box and stated "you don't want this do you?" I said no and he said that he would return it back to Fingerhut. Fingerhut never replaced the glass but they did admit they received the merchandise back. I got so fed up that I went to a glass shop with one of the unbroken table tops and had one cut. I was told that the glass used must be of poor quality as it should not have broken if it was packed in an approved shipping container. ALso goes to show that Fingerhut sells crap.

As for my bill, well I moved many months ago and requested that the address be changed on my bill at least three times and it has never been changed. It is amazing, Fingerhut can change your phone number but not your address. I have received calls from Fingerhut over the past several months for non-payment. On the caller id it states UNKOWN CALLER and there is no number.

When I answered the call, the person (would not give their name) just stated that they are Fingerhut and wanted me to make a phone payment. I asked for their phone number and was told that the customer service phone number appears on my bill. I explained the problem with the address change and was told that they probably never received it. I mentioned than how did you get my new phone number? It was on the SAME payment coupon as my new address. Got no reply to that one! I would not give Fingerhut any bank information to make a phone payment of course they would accept a credit card (yeah right) too. I said, no bill, no payment.

Sorry to have rambled but Fingerhut has been a thorn in my back (make that a pain in the a _ _) long enough.

I was told that I have over $500.00 in late fees

I received an interesting call from Axsys National Bank this afternoon. I was told that I have over $500.00 in late fees, etc. I explained that I had recently sent in a payment. It was confirmed that it was indeed creditied. I also stated that I had not received a statement for quite some time. Her response is that it is a courtesy that they send statements, they (Axsys) it not required to send a statement. It is the customer's responsibility to remember to pay the bill. Also I was given a telephone number to contact them 1-800-755-9333. Also I found out that Fingerhut no longer owns Axsys National Bank they are owned by (I think she said) CompCredit (or something like that) and just collect on the Fingerhut accounts. I was also asked if I had their mailing address. I said that considering it is on the statement, I said no I did not. I was also supplied with that. I tried to explain all the problems I had with Fingerhut, but was told that they have nothing to do with Fingerhut products and that Fingerhut was liquidated. I then stated but they are back in business again. I got no reply to that comment.
