BABC Credit Card Company Checking Account Ripoff deceptive company Largo Florida
I was called by BABC about obtaining an unsecured credit card with a $2000.00 credit limit (credit limit supposedly jumps to $2700.00 within 2 weeks). This was supposed to be a totally unsecured card, and they SWORE they wouldn't be taking out anything from my bank account except for the $10.00 per month minimum payment. I clarified this five different times.
There is an initial charge of $199.90 which they say is CHARGED TO THE CARD and NOT from your bank account.
Well, needless to say, the card never showed up (the 2-3 weeks to get the card had supposedly been moved up and I was promised my card within 2 days via UPS), and they tried to take the full $199.90 from my account. Luckily, I don't keep a bank account for anything other than to have a place for my direct deposit to go to. I cash out on payday and go.
My bank charged me $15.00 for insufficient funds and another $15.00 to stop BABC from attempting a withdrawl again.
Oh, and their 800 number is either not answered or is busy all the time. I don't see how anyone else who has been ripped of has gotten thru at all.
Just goes to show ya, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, AND, NEVER give out your SSN or account number/routing info to anyone if you don't have to. REPORT EVERYTHING TO THE F.T.C.
