Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In Spring of 2014, I was given a new debit card number. Since Bailey's website wouldn't let me sign in, I gave my new billing info the the front desk person at Bailey's, assuming that all was well. One would think that important information such as billing information would be updated immediately upon contacting an representative of the company.... Apparently that is not the case with Bailey's.

I just received an e-mail notification from Bailey's today threatening to send me to collections. This was indeed a surprise, since I have not been notified at all of any payment issues. Bailey's sent no e-mails, no postal mail, nor did they attempt to contact me to phone.

Upon receiving this threatening notification, I immediately called their corporate office and spoke with someone in billing. I told her that I had provided my update card information the gentelman at the desk at the location, and she said that I would need to furnish a receipt. I did not pay for anything - so there was no receipt for this and it has been 7 months (yes, 7 months. Over half a year) since I provided the information, so I have no records to document the instance. Quite convenient, isn't it?

Despite the threatening e-mail, despite the fact that the error was Bailey's own negligence, and despite the fact that Bailey's had neglected to contact me much sooner about the issue, I offered to pay the uncollected monthly payments. Since the error was their own and they didn't notify me until after continuously charging additional fees for 7 months, I refused to pay the additional charges. This practice of theirs is/was extremely unethical and highly questionable.

Upon telling the individual in billing that I would not pay the fees but would be happy to pay the 7 months worth of uncollected monthly payments, she promptly placed all of the blame on me, told me that the entire amount was in the contract and that my contract bound me to pay all of the payments plus the added $100 of additional fees they tacked on.

I wanted to be reasonable and pay the missed monthly fees to fulfull MY end of the contract, but Bailey Powerhouse apparently does not possess the capacity to take responsibility for their own mistakes, to be reasonable, and to engage in ethical practices. Apparently, they are more interested in blaming their customers for Bailey's mistakes, not adjusting their faulty, outdated business practices, insisting on trying to steal money from customers, and then threatenging to report them to collections, damaging their credit through no fault of the customer.

Do not go here and do business with these people. Their competitors are much more honest, responsible, and organized.
