It must be nice to live and do business amongst the titled nobility! If only the rest of us regular peasant customers were privileged enough to pay our monthly bills by presenting electronic debits without available funds and then "follow up later" with our paper checks as "proof." Ah, but then that would give the aristocratic banks far fewer opportunities and pretexts to extort their illegitimate tribute from their customer serfs through exorbitant customer-fleecing fees. Apparently all you have to do to join the bleedin' gentry is to incorporate!

Many companies now utilize electronic presentation of checks (including my company) The company presents the check electronically to your bank, and then follows up with the physical check as proof. It is very conceivable that the company could have presented payment day 1, been denied day 2, represented day 3, and then been denied a final time on day 4 all done electronically.
