GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If there are any good reviews, I was told they put up their own good reviews. Heed all of these bad reviews. They are all true. Not only is this place completely filfthy but they treat you as though you are in a prison. Don't question anything at all even if you are nice about it because they will call down the cops with the dog.
I was there with my son who is bipolar and the first woman to check us in was very rude, Lauren. She wouldn't let me talk at all. Kevin was in triage and yelled in my face and put his finger in my face when i was whispering to my son how badly we were being treated. Jody replaced him on his break and she was extremely rude as well. My God it felt like a prison. Evil.
A cop with a dog was sent down and waited outside the changing door while my son was getting changed to be seen. WTF. Holy sh*t. So much evil there. I wanted to get mandatory care for my son because bipolar patients don't think they need help. After 10 hours and going to UPC to file a petititon for mandatory care for my son nothing happened at all.
I filled out 10 pages of the same exact paragraphs over and over again about how my son needed emergency care because he was talking about suicide. They denied his petition. I was told they deny many petitions where people talk about suicide. The mental health is grossly overlooked. I don't think they want to be bothered. I can't believe what a horrible experience that whole ten hours was and with no help.
I was made to believe from the social worker at the hospital that i would probably get the petition approved and i was also told that by Colleen at the UPC. I thought, oh good someone is going to finally help my son. My heart sank when they told me it was rejected. Really scary when they send down the cop with the dog. After being there 10 hours for nothing and being abused, they came in with the bill of 531.00 and asked my son if he had that to pay.
They said his insurance doesn't pay for emergency room. We thought it did. What a bunch of dicks.

FROM ANOTHER REVEWER: I cannot even put my frustrations into words right now. A family member was petitioned for a very serious mental/bipolar issue. He had just been arrested and charged with ASSAULT and they deny the petition because he didn't show he was a threat/harm to himself or others?
he ASSAULTED a member of the opposite sex. 3 doctors petitioned as witness with an additional 2 family/friends. 5 total witness were listed and they denied and let this poor person back on the street!!!! This makes ZERO sense! And we wonder why there are more mass shootings...because our system for helping the ill is BROKEN!!! Its destroyed, it doesn't even exist any more! This is HORRIFIC!

My dad is there for watchman plant. He hopes to get out today for Thanksgiving. The nurses were very rude to my poor mom and my dad did not want to stay last night. Is the staff there always so rude or is it that they don't like their jobs? I am not happy at all with them. Told my mom that dad was still sleeping after surgery and told my dad that my mom had left and could not be found. That was not just poor communication...that was just mean. I am anticipating calling the local news station. No way to treat an 80 year old heart patient surviving 2 strokes.

I have a really hard time believing this report. I worked for a Healthcare company for many years and have never heard of any employee yelling at any patient unless they were combative and that was so they could treat the patient. Also - never heard of any hospital having police with dogs in the hospital - it is not sanitary. AND what kind of insurance does your son have? If they were so evil and the place was hell then you had the right to LEAVE! And NO I do not work for them.
As for the Social Worker - I am one and never EVER do I tell any patient that they will get anything period. I don't know what petition you think you are talking about but I assume maybe they were talking about a 72 hour psych hold. IF the psych department did not see a need then they cannot commit regardless if he told you he was suicidal - that is up to the treating Psych Dr. Please explain the abuse - were you abused physically. emotionally, financially?? If you were there to 10 HOURS you had the right to LEAVE!
