Basics Landscaping Co, Inc, Hewlynn Nurseries Do Not Use Basics Landscaping. They were paid to install my driveway. it now has sink holes, tire prints even metal wire sticking out of the asphalt and they have denied liability at every turn Deer Park, New York
Basics Landscaping was paid in full to rip out and install a new driveway on my property. There were immediate problems including copper wiring sticking out of the middle of it. The inconsistency of the asphalt was immediately noticeable. the surface was wavy and not level with stone work. It was rocky in some sections, very smooth in others.
Within a month it began breaking down. Tire prints began appearing immediately. i tried on numerous occasions to find resolution but was only offered different excuses or reasons why the conditions were "normal" or my fault.
I know find myself with no other option but to seek legal recourse to compel them to perform up to their contract. What is of most concern is that i am a considerable client of theirs. My home is featured on their website. If they treat me like this i cannot imagine how they treat their other clients.

High quality services and customer relationships are what Basics Landscaping foundation is based on. We offer warranties and stand behind them on all products that are defective and in many cases will go above and beyond our standard guarantee to ensure a positive end result and experience for our clients, this is what has allowed our good reputation to remain and for word of mouth to be the main source of new clients. We address all concerns promptly and regret that this review was not seen sooner.
In this particular situation of the asphalt, there were no issues of defects and concerns were addressed as they were brought to our attention. Asphalt is composed of bluestone and tar and therefore does not always have a smooth consistency. The product is made in a plant that deals with recycled materials, hence the piece of copper that had gotten mixed with the asphalt. This was removed promptly with no damage to the driveway. The company that we work with to actually install the asphalt portion of the project was involved in answering the concerns from the beginning and determined there to be no structural defects. As a courtesy, they heated and smoothed areas of the driveway that were not pleasing to the client. They also provided a complete sealing of the entire driveway at nor charge, which is recommended as routine maintenance for the driveway.
The Better Business Bureau and the Suffolk County Consumer Complaint board were both involved by the client and we provided all necessary information on how we responded and the actions taken regarding the client’s concerns. Both agencies mentioned were satisfied with what we had done to try to rectify the unhappy client.
