I went to be BBB to file a complaint.
I was sold a defective computer for over 1400 dollars. The hp company said to me they knew the product was defective and would not fix the problem. All the BBB did was let me file the report. The company rating did not change.
Long story short, if you pay enough you can have a good rating.
Good companies who do not pay the BBB do not get their seal.
THE SEAL FROM THE BBB IS PURCHASED AND NOT EARNED!!!!!!!!!!!

...I am not a homeowner. But many of my friends and family are.
You can look at what is going on with the foreclosures. Now, is this a result of too much regulation..or not enough?
Maybe we will let the democrats or republicans decide this for us?
What I can state based on reality and what is happening before our eyes...is the dems/Obama did nothing really. So..what are the angry voters going to do next??
Mark my words..they will vote republican..again.
Are the republicans for, or against financial institution regulations? If you know the answer..then you know where we are heading if something does not actually "change".
"Yes we can"...can what? go screw ourselves again? I am sure we can..and most likely.... will.
Thank You Obama

Why do you right wingers put all the blame on democrats. The republicans had control off congress and senate & they did NOTHING!. Accept make our problems worse & more people homeless. And they say they have learned there lesson, to the voters HA!
Know the voters trust republicans to handle the job issues, what a load off s**t. These voters have blinders on I've seen how the republicans handle things, & It isn't to Americas best interest.
The republican congressman & bitchy women congress women, only care about them & there familes not the people off this country. I bet If the unemployment rate Is still 9.4 this time next year.
The people will be screaming at the republicans but hey. Ya'll vote them In we don't want to hear ya'll whining bitching & moaning, cause your still out of work.

Granted, the republicans suck..but the Dems had control of EVERYTHING for a length of time, and as usual, they did nothing. And now the republicans will take over again. It is always easy to knock the "other" party when things always SUCK regardless of who has control. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting a different result. Well how long will the American voters keep doing the same thing over and over (vote democrat, then republican, democrat, then republican) and expect a different result? How long will the insanity continue?
Time to vote libertarian you think?

Consumers get no justice these days thanks to the elected republicans, from the past. And the stupid people who elected the crooks In office to screw us over. The voters don't need to blame democrats for these problems.
The voters screwed themselves over bye voting for these crooked republicans. And now they blame the democrats for this mess. The democrats tried to pass good bills to help us but bush veto them all.

I agree that the BBB is a useless advocate for the side of the consumer, attempting to complain against most major corporations. They hide the details of most complaints and the average person has no way of discovering if other complaints are similar to theirs or not.

..but regardless of how much a business pays for a better rating, the complaints are still made public. Anyone who uses the BBB to check out a business or charity, should take this into consideration. The BBB explains clearly that the rating is based on a few factors, such as the length of time in business, the percentage of complaints vs, customers, how the complaints are resolved and the fact that not all businesses can please everyone. They also clearly state if the business is an accredited member or not.
It seems in this case, your complaint here should be lodged against the place that sold you the LP computer. If they sold you a computer they admit they knew was defective and would not fix it, then that is a legitimate complaint.
It would be nice to know the details. Who sold you the computer and what was the warranty terms? This can help people. Slamming the BBB helps no one. If someone knows how to read and has a reasonable amount of good judgment, they will decide based on the complaints..not just the ratings. Just like if you shop on eBay. A business can have a good rating because the number of satisfied customers vs the number of complaints is high. But if you actually read the negative comments and not just go by the rating, you can make a decision whether or not this is the type of company you will deal with. How a complaint is handled tells you more about the business then the number of complaints or ratings.
