Actually, if it was a federal or state grant or loan, you DO have to stay in school to recieve the funds. Here is how it works: If you leave in the middle of the term (semester or quarter) the school is required to repay the government, therefore you owe the school. If you officially withdraw before the start of the new term, the money is just returned to the government but you have incurred no cost to the college. I know the irritation of this. I dealt with it when i withdrew from my first college. I did not understand that I would owe the school, since I had a federal scholarship. I now know better. Hope this helps! The owners, Tom & Morrie, cut and run a year ago. You'll have to fight it w/ the Feds if you had stafford or pell. If you did BCTI funding, tell em' to piss off.
