BUYER BEWARE

AVOID using the services of DATAMAGIC, Jennifer Swartz and Beachfront Web

DataMagic approched me as a local web development company that could help solve our website needs. I met in person with their sales rep who showed me their portfolio, and convinced me of their credability and expertise. Since they were a local business with what seemed to be a good track record I moved forward. We had a budget of $5,000 to get the job done. I gave him what the site needed to do and the rep called me after a few days to say they could get it done for me in budget.

Datamagic then requested 1/2 of the funds up front to begin the work and the remainder at site finish, which seemed reasonable based upon my research of other companies payment policies.

A few days later I was introduced to my primary contact and wed developer, Jennifer Swartz.

Jennifer sounded great on the phone, She assured me she could build us a great website. She knew we had a budget of $5,000 to get the job done and she said that was not a problem. Once we began work I figured out she was not located in Carrollton, TX. at the offices of DataMagic, but working remotely, no problem.. many web folks work from home... no red flags yet. Soon after words I began to inquire about where she was, and found she was in Mexico. She told me she "had grown up in Texas but had recently moved to Mexico to relax as she worked remotely" ..... yellow flag... but since she had been recommended by Datamagic of Carrollton, TX. I hoped everything was still fine.  The first few weeks we communicated about once a week on the project that was scheduled for a 8 to 12 week finish, sometimes via email and sometimes via Vonage phone, but soon she stopped responding. and the site that was started was never completed and sits on the web as an inactive, unusable piece of junk costing me $2,500.

I am In the process of re-doing the site with another developer, Lesson Learned .... NO money up front... and AVOID ....  DATAMAGIC, Jennifer Swartz and BeachFront Web.

Good luck with your site
