Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Sacha Boren, with Beaumont Exotics is running a terrible scam and is exploiting animals for her own monetary gain. She once had a small hamster breeding business called Beaumont Exotics, and she would also BUY wholesale animals from mill breeders and sell them on her site- such as hedgehogs and various reptiles. Recently she has transformed her exotic breeding business into a "rescue" and she claims to take in all unwanted exotic mammals and reptiles. Well she sure does take them in...She never rehomes any animals that are considered valuable in the pet trade; she sells them, breeds them or keeps them as her personal pets- NEVER spaying or neutering them. On her FB page, she posted a picture of a cockatoo that just came into the "rescue", a few hours later someone posted that they would be interested in adopting her- she immidiately responded that one of her "directors" had given her a home. There only seems to be two directors; Sacha Boren and Rita Davenport who also breeds hedgehogs, Short tail opossums and other exotics to SELL.

If you follow her facebook, she makes posts about animals for sale, and animals she is expecting to have babies. She also posts "want" ads on facebok and other sites looking for intact species to breed with the animals she gets in through her "rescue". She also states on her website and on FB that she uses a exotic animal broker to deal with her animals- this is so she can sell her animals to third parties and no one knows that she is the actual seller. More recently she posted on her FB that she was donated a trio of spotted bengal cats to her rescue, not one week later she is posting them for sale on FB and on exoticanimalsforsale.net and she is claiming for them to come as a proven breeding trio with complete TICA paperwork and one of the females is possible pregnant.

She has also purchased animals to breed and then claimed them to be "rescues". In one example she purchased a coatimundi from a broker /mill breeder in Houston,  and it turned out to have a tail infection, she she claims it as a "Rescue" and is "looking for a sponsor" for said coatimundi. She is taking peoples money to pay for her own pets and breeders medical expenses.

On a final note, Beaumont Exotics has been taking in exotics, breeding AND selling these animals for over a year, and was NOT licensed properly to do so until today as stated on their FB page.

In conclusion, people need to be aware that Sacha Boren with Beaumont Exotics is simply not what she is claiming to be and the needs of the animals need to come before her monetary greed. Breeding any animal in a "rescue" is immoral and misleading- Im sure people surrenduring their pets they can no longer care for do not want them being breeders for the rest of their life to make Sacha Boren more money.

In reply to those defending Sacha and BEAR

The majority of you defending Sacha and BEAR are freely admitting you work or volunteer for her so your defense is biased and twisted at best. Everything you are saying is simply your own personal opinions trying to persuade others and many of you are conflicting one another. It makes it very clear when the own people who work for her and her company cannot even keep their own facts straight. And speaking of facts...where are yours? Where is any of your proof showing this is true?

The rest of us that have been posting against Sacha and Bear HAVE been showing proof through pictures, links and public information. You guys have not provided ANY of this.

Also if your facility is so nice where all of these rescues are kept what is the address for it so people can come visit? Is there even an address for it or was it shut down? The only address I can find is for Sacha regarding her license. So does that mean that all of these rescues are being house in her own small home with yes her children? I am not attacking her as a mother, but any knowledgeable exotic animal handler and rescuer knows better than to bring strange animals around children that have been rescued, purchased or given to them. This DOES put the children in danger unless these animals are caged 100% of the time, yet you guys freely post all the time that these animals once received are given free run in the home. There have also been posts made about trips to the emergency room for rabies shots. Care to explain that one?

Also to claim that we work for PETA is a very desperate attempt since you guys can not dispute all of the proof and facts we have shown. If you guys would not have lied and deceived families and upset some very respectful breeders out there, they would not be coming together exposing the truth.

The poster above was also correct regarding exhibiting certain exotics. The lemurs and coatimundi that were claimed many times on the Beaumont Exotics facebook page as "rescues" were personal pets of Sacha and Rita Davenport who purchased them. You guys also claimed that these guys and many others that you later purchased with donation money from the public were rescues and asked for people to sponsor them so you could get paid to own your own personal pets. However, now that this has been shown that they were not rescues and you actually did purchase them you are now claiming they were purchased to be used as educational animals.

These animals were exhibited and shown to many people for a fee and allowed to freely interact with children MANY TIMES and the proof was all over your public beaumont exotic facebook page before you took it down PRIOR to being licensed on May 9, 2011. This is ILLEGAL and very dangerous especially since what PROOF other then claiming can you offer that you have years of experience with these animals prior to these ones you recently purchased like you "claim". Ok if you went to school SHOW us the degree you received, the year received, from what school etc. Show us with names and proof who you have worked for in the past to give you experience with these animals. Or are you guys first time owners of each of these animals, which would mean you have owned them for less than a year and have no idea how their behavior can change over time. If not where is the proof?

Why would you spend the publics donation money to BUY certain exotic animals as education and try to represent yourself as a rescue at the same time? This conflicts with the whole idea of rescue when you buy exotic animals and breed and sell them and then try to convince the public that most of these animals do not make good pets but yet that is exactly what you are doing. Did you disclose to each and every person including children who donated to you guys that the money they donated could be spent to buy more rare and expensive exotic animals and would not necessarily go to help real rescue animals? If this was not disclosed to every person that donated to "Beaumont Exotic Animal Rescue" then this is fraud and you are deceiving the community and can be held liable for this along with many other charges.

Petco has also told us that you guys are no longer allowed to go into there with your animals nor are you allowed to ask for donations any longer and adopt them out. What is the reasoning and defense you can offer behind this?

You have lied to so many families like us and had you been honest and ethical from the beginning and represented yourselves and your organization with class and with proper licensing all of this would not be coming down on you. People do not go out of their way to discredit organizations unless there is a reason to and clearly we have all seen the proof or been personally affected by you guys whether it be through our family, donations, respectful breeders or the community.

THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT SACHA!

First off I want to say what a wonderful educational program Beaumont Exotics provides! Beaumont Exotics frequently does FREE programs at the seniors home that I work at in Silsbee. They come in and see every patient and spend several hours visiting with our residence. The animals are always friendly, well groomed and transported with much care! I did have the privilege to meet Sacha where she was open about about the fact that she's breeds and runs a rehoming service. I recently ended up buying a Hedgehog from her. She was very knowledgeable, professional and even helped me setup the cage. I received a health certificate on the hedgie and a 1 year health guarantee. Every time I call or email with a question someone promptly replies to my inquiry. I was very impressed with the service I was provided. My understand of the website and facebook page was not that they were a "rescue" but that they offered Exotic Pet Services from breeding to rescue and adoptions to educational programs. The website and Facebook in NO WAY strictly focuses on the rescue. I had herd about the JR. Volunteer program and have a 15 year old daughter that LOVES animals of all kinds. So I registered her for the program. I received lots of information on licensing, insurance, the animals health and vaccination records for all the animal my child would be involved with. Again I was very impressed with all the information I was provided! Friday morning at 8:00am we arrived and I decided to stay. The cages were HUGE filled with hammocks, toys, perches and professional enrichment items.

Three girls were involved and Sacha focused on educating the girls about the animals as they were in the wild not as house pets. She did not promote some of these animals as "PETS". There was one super sweet female Kinkajou named Picka. 1 neutered male Ringed Tail Lemur that was very tame & friendly, 2 very sweet Prairie Dogs, 2 Hedgehogs and 1 Macaw. That was it! They were not crammed in the home by any means they had plenty of room and were allowed out of there cages to roam freely and play! (The house WAS critter proofed) I went into EVERY room of the home as the children played in the children's rooms and used both restrooms laundry room and master bedroom as they cleaned. NONE of the children had animals in there bedrooms it was a completely normal house hold besides the unusual critters. THESE CHILDREN ARE IN NO WAY IN ANY DANGER!!! I cannot stress this enough! Nothing about the report upset because I knew in my heart it was not true! But when you brought this woman's children into it that was crossing the line. Sacha is a wonderful mother and educator! Next time I will drop my child off and NEVER second guess her safety! You have a better chance of getting injured by your families dog than ANY of the animals in Sacha's home! She in NO WAY received free labor from these children her house was trashed when we left. I am not a friend of Sachas but do feel you are portraying her very wrong! Sacha if you read this please forgive me for providing personal information about your children and home. I had no intention on giving these fools fuel to their fire. You are a wonderful person please do not let these PETA affiliated individuals get to you! Keep doing exactly what your doing you are a blessing to our community! GOD BLESS YOU!

Client of Sachas since 2003. . .

I have been a client of Sachas since 2003 when she ran a small grooming and board service in the DFW area. She would board my snakes when I went on business trips. Sacha had a part time job working as a Vet. tech at a local exotic vets office that specialised in reptiles. I was referred to her by the Vet that seen my snakes. She was very knowledgeable on a wide variety of exotics and took excellent care of my snakes. Her home was always clean and the animals were always healthy and well managed. There were large outside enclosure and fenced in areas for larger livestock, ect. I also knew that she never turned an animal in need away and took in unwanted exotics. At that time she did not claim to be a rescue but did re home some of the critters that came in. All I know is she is a very knowledgeable individual with lots of experience and a passion for exotics. I was also aware that she breeds unique hamsters, parrots and bearded dragons. She was very good at it and did educational programs with her birds and reptiles. I am not an expert but did do a little research on this report. It is my understanding that you do not have to have any licenses to board/groom, breed, or show birds and reptiles in the USA. I am aware that Sacha is permitted to have/sale/or broker certain reptiles. I have contacted Texas Parks and Wildlife and verified her information myself. This report is fishy to me and very seriously doubt this information is factual or it has been seriously twisted to make her look bad. Seems to me this person is out to get Sacha. This is very sad Sacha is a good person and I would defiantly do business with her again. Please DO NOT TAKE THIS RIDICULES REPORT SERIOUSLY!

Sacha has a heart of gold my experience...

#6General Comment

My name is Majorie S I live in Vidor Texas. I contacted Sacha hysterically because my Ferret was injured and I could not afford the veterinary bills. I was desperate! My children were running in and out of the house and accidentally shut the door on Bandits back legs. They appeared broken and I could tell he was in pain. Sacha had me meet her at a pawn shop in Beaumont where she uninstalled the radio, amp and speakers from her car and pawned them! I was shocked that a complete stranger would have such a kind and giving heart. When she came out of the pawn shop she handed me $300 and called a local vet that could see me immediately! Bandit turned out to be ok but will never get around the same. I could not see this story being factual in any way. I am more than happy to be contacted further to share my experience. On another note I was later invited to Sachas home in Lumberton, Texas. It was clean and every single animal there was healthy, housed in large cages or were roaming freely through her home playing with her children. You could immediately tell the well being and happiness of these animal were the most important thing to Sacha.
