I have been trying to obtain a debt-consolidation loan for some time now without any luck. I saw Bentley Financial Services on the internet at benleyfinancials.com and applied. A few weeks after my initial application, I received a call from Kathryn Diaz from Bentley Fiancial Services. Kathryn Diaz informed me that I had been approved for a personal loan of $6,000.

Kathryn Diaz explained to me that due to my low credit score, I would have to put down an insurance fee of $595 in order to pay for insurance - just in case I defaulted on the personal loan. Kathryn Diaz also stated that should I pay my loan on time for the first 3 monthly payments, Bentley Financial Services would would cut me a check for reimbursement of the $595 insurance fee. This sounded like a good deal.

Kathryn Diaz informed me that once she had received my completed paperwork and the $595 insurance fee through Western Union, I would be receiving the $6,000 loan directly-deposited into my checking account.

I was a little skeptical to such a good deal, and I did some research. I found the rip-off report of Amber here at badbusinessbureau.com. All the while I was receiving calls from Kathryn Diaz. I mentioned the rip-off report during one of our calls. Kathryn Diaz calmly explained that Amber had defaulted on her loan payments, and she was just tryin to get even with Bentley Financial Services by filing the erroneous report.

I was now torn between going ahead with the loan or just forgetting the whole thing. Since I was eager to consolidate all my bills into one payment and lower my monthly expenditures, I decided to go ahead with the loan process any way.

After sending Kathryn Diaz the requested materials, especially the proof of Western Union Payment for the $595 insurance fee, she called me and informed me that I should be receiving my $6,000 directly deposited into my bank account within the next 3 - 5 hours. Kathryn Diaz called back 15 minutes later and said that I would not be receiving my loan into my bank account until the next day due to technical problems at their office.

This all took place on Friday, August 18, 2006. I was supposed to receive my $6,000 from Kathryn Diaz & Bentley Financial Services no later than Monday, August 21, 2006. It is now September 16, almost one month later, and I still have not recieved the promised loan from Kathryn Diaz & Bentley Financial Services or heard from her or her company.

I have called many, many times to their toll free number - leaving a message each time, and I have emailed them a few times. Each time without a call back or response from Kathryn Diaz & Bentley Financial Services.

Whatever happened to the Golden Rule - "Treat others the way you want to be treated"? It seems that Kathryn Diaz & Bentley Financial Services forgot about this important rule, when conducting business.

Later on in the future, if I should somehow manage to get a refund of my $595 or receive my loan of $6,000 from Kathryn Diaz & Bentley Financial Services, I will most definitely post here at badbusinessbureau.com to let everyone know of the outcome or any changes.

For now, my advice is to stay FAR, FAR AWAY as you can from Kathryn Diaz & Bentley Financial Services! They stole my money, and they will steal yours, too, as well.

I hope people will read my report and heed my warning.

Loan for fee

It is illegal for a company to charge an upfront fee to receive a loan. Anyone who promises to give you a loan in exchange for an upfront fee is ripping you off

Western Union: about the third clue that this was a scam. Don't send another penny. Read the other reports on advance fee loan scams. Google on Advance Fee Fraud. Stay away from internet web-sites that want you to enter your personal information. Stay out of Western Union.

You will need a lot of luck to catch and get the authorities to prosecute these scammers. This "advance fee" loan scam has been going on for several years to the frustration of law enforcement and victims alike. One major problem is most of the scammers are in Canada. They set up a phony website or post ads in newspapers offering loans. They utilize disposable cell phones in most cases, remain in an area of Canada for a few weeks collecting "insurance" on loans via WU and once they feel a little heat they move on. The address they provided is a Mail Boxes Etc. location in Patchogue, N.Y. It is likely they have the mail forwarded from their or have an associate pick it up. More likely it is simply discarded. Sadly, your money is gone. There was never any loan, nor are there lenders who loan based on advance insurance payments against loan defaults. For the OP. Debt consolidation loans are expensive, normally completely out of reach for anyone with blemished credit and in general only granted to those with collateral.

I was just catching up on all the new reports that have been filed on Bentley financials. I would hope that everyone would read my rebuttle to Kathryn's Claim that I defaulted on my loan and I'm just trying to get even, I never received any money from them, I didn't even ever have a chance to default on a loan! I NEVER GOT A LOAN FROM BENTLEY FINANCIALS I SENT THEM MY MONEY THEY NEVER SENT ME THEIRS! YOU CAN'T DEFAULT ON A LOAN YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE. I'm a little upset about her and the employees stating that I did default on my loan to my knowledge that is a form of slander. To all involved I wanted to let you know I am seeking legal advice on this company and what action I (we) can take, if anyone has any advice please let me know. So help me I will find them one of these days, and what goes around comes around, and I'm on a mission!
