Bernard Haldane Associates, Career Marketing, Inc ripoff, lured deceptive dishonest misrepresentation rip-off San Jose California
BHA described its expertise and success networking on behalf of e-commerce professionals, and boasted about a proprietary network of contacts to which I would have access. I agreed to sign up with BHA based specifically on these representations.
Since May 2001 to April 2002 with a 4 month break neither BHA on my behalf nor I from a lack of BHA contacts have had any success in obtaining useful references/referral interviews. In fact, BHA has contacted the same human resources personnel in various companies as I had done prior to engaging BHA's services - this is hardly taking advantage of a robust network of contacts.
I believe this business took advantage of a desperate person looking for a job.
During my time at BHA I started a consulting job (which was my contact and I also started contacting that firm before I engaged BHA) from July to November of 2001, so my total time with BHA is about 8..9 month. (BHA's contract is for 3 years, the total was $6690 : 36month = $186 per month, if we deduct 9 month 9*$186=$1674 it would make it $5016, this is the reason for a $5000 refund)
I also tried the Small Claims court system but because of my inexperience with the system and also because I sued to get out of the contract because of the cigarette smoke in the office I lost.
I had numerous phone conversations with the President about this issue and how his company does not perform what was promised during the interview.
Again: I think I was strung along from the beginning because there was absolutely no networking experience in my field, I visited the office for 9 month and did not have one referral interview.
