FTC: Other Lied rip-off fraud GE Capital are liars and CONs

Feedback: I had an account with same as cash for the past 3/4 years and always paid in on time and in within the terms of the same as cash terms.

I called in Feb 02 to find out when exactly I needed to pay the balance off by I was told it was due by April 02 and I asked the CSR if that when I recieved the April statement then this is when I had to pay the balance.

I received my March and it had no indication on it that this was the final month of the same as cash on the statement. Then in April I recieved the statement with all the back finance charges 500+ dollars I immedentally sent a check for the balance of seven hundred plus 100 extra to cover any other charges total check sent was 850 dollars.

Now I keep getting bills with the back interest and late payments and charges I have called several times and writting a letter to dispute this however I have not gotten any satifaction. This CSR was wrong in her information to me and now I am being told oh well. On top of all else they have reported it to the Credit B and hurt my Credit even though I have told them and written a letter of dispute.

I was in the process of refinancing my home but due to this I have had alot of trouble. I have always paid my bills on time and in full. But this has really hurt my Credit and it WAS NOT my fault they lied to me. Please help!!!Thanks, Mark

Our specific information:

We are an independent research study which solicits information from those who financed purchases from various stores that use HRS (Household Retail Services) as their method of financing.

Specifically, we are gathering factual reported cases from consumers that financed on a 6 month or 12 month "no interest" plan. Interest free for 1 year on major appliances, computers, etc., in other words.

Our studies thus far reveal that:

1. A consumer may receive a bill at their correct address in months 1-11, then the apartment number or zip code is wrong in month 12.

2. A consumer may return a product but never receives acknowledgement from HRS.

3. A consumer may receive their bill late in the 12th month, but cannot respond in time to pay it, thus resulting in the total interest due.

4. The largest number of complaints reference Best Buy stores and Rooms To Go stores and purchases made from those companies. Other companies that finance through HRS also play a part in this investigation.

Hey Chris (LA, Calf.) I respect your input? However, my point was is that I called GE CAPITAL CONS CARDCO (Customer Service) in Feb. of 2002 to find out the pay-off due date and I was told the final payment was due for the April 2002 statement and was due in May 2002 (she mislead and lied to me)Due to it was actually due on the March and in April 2002. However, this was not indicated anywhere!!! Sorry, if you mis-understood that 02 meant 2002. Also, I feel that it was wrong for Best Buy & Ge Capital Cons cardco to hide, shade, mislead, pay games with the very customers whom pays there bills...I have always taken great pride in paying my bills and do pay them in-full and always on time. However, if you ask me Best Buy and Ge Capital Cons cardco have scammed and frauded people with this same as cash...misleading B.S. and have not only done wrong by me and have screwed with my credit...to make me appear as I am a credit risk but...many other people and consumers too...and this is very wrong!!! Thanks,

Chris

Although I sympathize with you - when you asked when "exactly" you needed to pay the balance off and they told you it was due by April 2, didn't that mean something to you?
