Best Buy ENERGY STAR tax free ripoff Rockville Maryland
It seems that the Best Buy in Rockville is duping unknowing consumers by charging them tax on TAX FREE "Energy Star" appliances!
The state of Maryland (and others) offer consumers incentives to buy efficient appliances, vehicles, etc.in the form of no sales tax on these items. But having just learned this myself I looked at a reciept of a qualifying refridgerator we purchased (for $1307.97!!!!!) and found it taxed to the tune of $65.40 - 100% of which went to Best Buy, NOT the state of Md! I'm going in tomorrow to demand a refund, but I wonder how many others have they ripped off!?!?!?
